His hand ran a small outline of the S laying against my naked chest. "It says purple foods can help enhance brain function; helps communication across brain." My eyes read along the small book about brain pathophysiology we had picked up one day while we were out. It had been a little over a month since I returned to Bucharest and we quickly fell into our own little life.
"Interesting," his hand trailed down between my bare breast as we laid in bed legs entangled with each other. This life involved a lot of sex. If we weren't fucking we were fighting, well, fake fighting to help me learn more.
There never was a dull moment and it left my body bruised and sore most of the time, but gosh it was wonderful. "Don't you want to fix your brain?" I flipped the page.
He sighed fingers curling around the bend of my ribcage. "I think it's going to take more than some blueberries to fix me."
I closed the book looking at him. "Purple foods." He left hand rested sweetly on my body as our eyes met lazily, "It might not be the solution, but maybe a plum or two wouldn't hurt."
He removed his hand and stretched, "Fine." He held up his hand for me to take.
"Where is the winter solider book anyways?" I asked running my hand through his metal fingers tracing the fine grooves of his knuckle.
He shrugged, "I don't know."
I watched out hands, "Did Pierce not have it?" He shook his head, "How did they know the words then?"
"Not sure," he let his hand fall, "I don't keep track of those things."
"Well," I gazed out into the apartment. "Let's hope it doesn't fall into the wrong hands."
He rolled onto his back. "It probably burned down with your house."
I tapped my fingers against the closed book. "Are you sure you never saw Nikolai?"
"Yes." I saw his face scrunch in anger.
"I wonder if he has it." Bucky didn't say anything I turned on my side to face him, "I just don't want you to..." I couldn't finish it.
His face snapped to mine. "I'm not going to do that to you again. I don't care if someone does have it; it's never going to happen." My hand fell onto his shoulder to let him know I knew that too. "Nik isn't really apart of Hydra anymore."
I furrowed my eyebrows. "What do you mean?"
"He was, but like I said Pierce was in charge when I woke up." He ran a hand over his face. "I remember them talking about how they might send me to take him out because he was causing a lot of problems."
"What problems?"
Bucky shook his head. "He thought he should be in charge; he was power hungry. He was brutally torturing people to get information, to get his way. Not just normal people, but Hydra and S.H.I.E.L.D. and that's just putting it lightly. They exiled him from Hydra, but he was still causing problems for them. Then he just stopped." He met my gaze. "They thought he died, or disappeared, or just gave up. I think he's waiting; planning to attack at the proper moment. And with Hydra gone who knows what will rise in its wake." He looked away again, "When you told me he attacked you on the highway...I thought the worse."
I toyed with the ends of his hair, "He just knocked me out, and somehow got me to America. Never quite knew how that happened."
"Those fuckers have access to so much random shit they probably used some old WWII submarine."
I chuckled, "Sorry, it's not funny, but it is. He brought me to America and then got kicked out and then I met you again. Everything kind of blew up in his face."
