Megan's POV:
It was a risky move for me to do what I did in Taylors car. I had snuck inside of it, don't ask how or why, I just did. At least he knew that I was around. And the fact that he talked to me and knew of my presence just made me so happy that I had to stay. When Taylor arrived back at his house, I followed him inside. "Megan?" He said to me. He was sitting at his desk and I was sitting on his bed. "Megan, I'm not sure if we should do the Quiji thing anymore." He sighed.
"I just feel like everyones going to be trying to reach out to you when its really me who should be reaching out for you. If that even makes any sense." I nodded. "Yeah it does." I said. "Why you talkin' to yourself weirdo?" Tristen, Taylors little brother, said while walking into his room. "Because I can." Taylor got up and threw Tristen over his shoulder. Trsiten giggled his brains out as Taylor twirled him in a circle. It had to have been the cutest thing I've ever seen. Taylor fell to the floor with Tristen and they both took a moment to catch their breaths.
"Hey Taylor?" Tristen asked. "Yeah?" Taylor replied. "When are you going on tour?" Tristen sounded so pitiful saying those words. Taylor sighed and stared at the ceiling. "Listen, I don't want you to be upset that I'm leaving. I'll be back before you know it. Trust me." He turned to his little brother and gave him a hug. I was practically in tears. I missed Colin. I missed my mom. Even though I'm pissed at him, I miss my dad too. Colin was always there for me. He helped me through relationships, high school drama. Everything because he was the only person to really understand it.
Of course Maggie understood it all but she was currently living it while Colin had already lived it. Watching Taylor and Tristen made me second guess myself. Did I want to wake up from my coma without a family? Did I? If I even get to wake up? I was startng to scare myself. I needed to communicate with Taylor in a way that wouldn't be so weird. Skylnn. I only had a few more days until they do the Quiji Board. Maybe if I could get Skylann to tell Taylor that I'm alive, he'll find a way to bring me back.
"So Tristen. You heard about that girl Megan right?" I heard Taylor say over my thoughts. "Yeah why?" He questioned. Tay sat up and looked at Tristen. "So the guys and I are going to try and communicate with her on Friday night." Tristen seemed interested. "Really? How? I thought that she was dead?" I laughed a little bit. "She is. But we're going to use one of those Quiji Boards like from that movie we watched called Quiji and try to talk to her." I saw fear cross over Tristen's face. "What if you die too?" He asked. "I won't die." Taylor stood up and helped his little brother up too.
"Can I come?" Taylor laughed. "No kiddo, it's just gonna be me and the guys. Maybe next time." He russeled up Tristens hair and left the room. I decided to take a walk and left his house. I soon realized that Maggies place wasn't too far away. I went down a few blocks and crossed over to the next neighborhood. As I apporached her house, I knocked on her door. Her mom opened it up and I squeezed passed her. "Crazy ding-dong ditchers." She muttered. I went upstairs and then knocked on Maggies door. When she opened it, I squeezed passed her too.
She rolled her eyes and then collapsed on her bed with her journal. "Hey Mag." I said. She had her earbuds in as she drew a flower. "Did you know that you actually live near Taylor? No need to meet him when we could just walk to his house." I chuckled. It hurt knowing that she couldn't hear me. I missed her. A lot. I looked at her mirror on her wall and walked over to it. I looked at Mag's reflection and noticed a thing of lipstick on her dresser. I pondered over whether or not I should do it but then I knew that I had to.
I took the lipstick from the dresser and went back to the mirror. I popped off the cap and began to write my message. Talk to me - Meg is all I wrote. Then I walked over to Maggie and jabbed her in her side. She perked up and looked around her. Then I saw her eyes glance at the mirror. Her jaw dropped and she slowly walked over to it. I set the lipstick back on her dresser but purposly left it uncapped. "Oh my god." She muttered. "Megan?" She said. "Yes?" I answered in the form of a question. "Megan are you here right now?" A tear fell down her cheek.
"Oh my god." She repeated, rushing to her door. I followed. "Mom, you need to see this," She yanked her mom from the cubboard and dragged her to her room. I moved out of the way of the door and watched them stare at the mirror in awe. "Are you screwing with me Mag?" Lauree, Maggies mom, said to Maggie. "Why the hell would I screw with you about something like this!?" She shouted. "What do you think it means?" Maggie asked. "I think she wants us to talk to her." You don't say? I rolled my eyes.
"Talk to me!" I shouted. The lamp on the side of Maggie's bed flickered. "M-megan?" Maggie stuttered. "Is that you?" I didn't want to answer her. I felt like there was only one person that could. I looked around the room for a piece of paper and a pencil. The best thing I could find was a sharpie and a used napkin.
Taylors Caniff, Princeton, Indiana 47670 Brumfield Avenue -Meg
I placed the napkin on her bed and left. I made my way back to the hospital. The empty halls that discouraged me. Made me loose hope. Made me feel dead. I suppose that it's normal to feel that way because of the actual amount of deaths that occur there but still. Its just depressing. I sat down in one of the seats in my room and stared at myself. I didn't like that I could stare at myself. it was weird. I began to hear voices coming from down the hall strangly. Suddenly Skylnn, Will, and Nash entered the room. "Skylnn?" I said in delight. Just my luck
"Megan!" She shouted. She ran up and hugged me. "What are you guys doing here?" I asked. "I don't know, Nash said he wanted to see you." She told me. I looked over at Nash who was looking at the other me with Will. "Listen, I need to ask you to do something for me." She nodded for me to continue. "I need you to tell Taylor that I'm alive. I can see and hear everything he's saying if I'm in the room with him. I know that that's a lot for you to remember but do you think you can do it?" I was begging that she would be able to. "Yes, I will tell him." I smiled and gave her another hug.
