Chapter 51

Lauren's POV

"What the fuck is going on over here Violet, get over here" He demanded as he pointed his finger at the ground in front of him. His eyes were filled with anger as he stared all the girls down.

Violet stood with her arms crossed and looked him up and down.

Zero snapped his fingers and pointed to the ground again. "I SAID RIGHT NOW!!!" He said much louder this time.

This was the first time I heard Zero actually get angry and it honestly surprised me.

I ran over behind a tree and only peeked my head from behind to watch the argument.

Violet skipped happily over to Zero and stood with her hands behind her back and poked out her chest as she swayed back and forth on her heels.

"What's the matter ZiZi" she asked in a high pitch tone as if she wasn't doing nothing wrong. The other girls snickered and laughed. And as they did Zeros eyes darted at them before he spoke to them next.

"You girls, get the fuck out of my sight, as for you, what makes you think I'd put up with this kind of behavior?" He said as he stared down at her with his arms crossed.

"Oh please, we broke up and now your fucking some freckled face freak" she said as she stood on her toes to try and meet his size. She was still much smaller than him and he didn't seem to care that she was because when she tried to meet his size he got closer and towered even taller.

"It's none of your business who I fuck, and it's my responsibility to keep everybody in this pack safe from harm, I can't do my job as leader if you're gonna walk around here beating on other girls"

He glanced around for a second and it didn't take long for his eyes to find meet mine. He glanced back down at Violet and spoke in a deep voice.

"You need to understand who is actually in charge here, it sure as fuck isn't you" he said as he found my eyes again.

He didn't speak out to me but only signaled for me to come with him and with that I ran over to him as he turned around.

Violet ran over to Zero and punched him right in the face. I was shocked and felt bad for him as he held his hand against his face that was already turning red from the hit. He took a second to process who had just hit him and his next move shocked me even more.

He turned around and open hand slapped Violet right in her face with enough force to knock her to the ground.

She looked up at him with tears in her eyes.

"You always said men don't hit women, you're a coward"

Zero knelt down to her size and stared her right in the eyes as he spoke in a deep and loud growl.

"If you wanna hit me as if your a man, I'm going to treat you like a fucking man, do you understand me"

With that Violet finally submitted and didn't say another word but just sat on the ground and nodded her head.

"That's right, now tell me who's in charge" he said as he stood over her.

"You" she said through cries.

With that Zero turned around and took my hand as he walked angrily and fast.

He looked down at me and softened his face.

"What I did back there is to never be spoke about, I only hit her because she decided to punch me. A slap I would have ignored"

I looked up at him as he continued to walk fast.

"Is Violet OK" I asked even tho I knew she wouldn't have asked the same about me.

"Violet will be fine, I didn't use even a fraction of my strength, my slap was an attention getter"

I was silent for a while as we walked before he looked down at me again and sighed.

"You know, you're too nice, you have to learn how to fight back or else everybody is gonna step all over you, you can't let people beat on you like that Lauren" I glanced up at him as we made our way back to the camp. "I could never fight anybody" I said to him as we sat by the fire.

"There's a difference between fighting and defending yourself Lauren. What I did to Violet back there, I was defending myself not fighting"

Athan walked over to us and sat down beside Zero.

Athan's POV

"Damn dude, what happened to your face?"

Zero smiled a fake smile and I knew he was in pain.

"Ah, nothing, just a problem I had to deal with is all" he said said as he left Lauren at my side as he walked over to the other group of men who stared at the bruise as well.

I watched as a black haired girl walked out of the Forrest and her hand where her fist was, was red and puffy. I than knew who it was who hit him.

By the looks of her face I instantly knew he had retaliated in some way and that's why he chose to leave Lauren with me this time as he got up and decided to go relax in the small tint he had made for him and the 2 girls he was with. Heaven followed behind him like a lost puppy.
