Within The Ash

Chapter 7

Athan's POV

She stood shyly on the other side of the room. Her white hair looked soft and her white eyes stared at me with shyness.

Now that she's ours I realized more how absolutely stunning she is. Although I'd prefer her to be happy but that is up to me to change.

She stared out the window at the night sky as if she were looking for something.

"Is everything okay?" I asked standing next to her looking up at the sky myself.

"One of the things I used to do as a child when I was sad was look for the big and Little Dipper within the stars" she said tracing things in the sky with her fingers.

"I see, what is the big and Little Dipper?" She looked back at me and questioned in her head if I was actually serious before she spoke.

"Are you seriously asking me that"

I nodded my head looking closer at the stars. "Yea, I'm not exactly sure what your talking about darling"

She pointed to the sky and traced out an image of 2 pan like images, one was small and the other was big.

"The stars have real images Athan, were you never taught this?" She asked in wonder as she traced out more images in the sky.

"Nope, I was taught that stars are balls of gas millions and millions of miles away" I said watching as her finger continued to trace out images.

"Well that is far from the truth, stars are there to guide and teach us, they tell us stories about ourselves and about the ones we love and used to love, we are the stars. One day we will all be part of the millions of stars above when we are no longer able to inhabit our earthly beings"

"My darling, i have been around hundreds of years, I am still young at the age of 365, practically a teenager. I assure you I won't be a star, I will be resting in hell with the rest of the vampires" she looked at me with anger this time as I smiled with peace.

"Why would you say such a thing?"

"Don't you get it Heaven?, I fucking kidnapped you as our pet, I will one day drink from you, don't you see anything evil about that?"

Her eyes grew wide "y- you could never hurt me"

I rolled my eyes. "I can and I will Heaven"

She shook her head again and it pissed me off that she wasn't accepting what came with being a pet.

I threw her on the bed and climbed on top of her, holding her down with just one hand.

"Ok, than get up Heaven, common, push me off you" I said as she wiggled underneath me.

Tears filled her eyes as she stared up at me in fear.

"I am in full control of you right now and can do what ever I please" I looked down at her fragile and small figure as she whimpered.

"For fuck sake, if I wanted to I could-" I cut myself off when I heard her terrifying thoughts.

(He's going to have his way with me, god no, please not him, I trusted him)

I sighed and let go of her revealing my hand print that was wrapped around her small wrists.

"I could have my way with you but I told you I'm not that kind of man, you need to understand that if you choose to put our lives in danger than we can turn evil really fast, we are evil beings Heaven"

She nodded her head in silence but spoke again despite her fear.

"If you don't have the heart to hurt me, than you are not evil Athan"

She said as she sat up on my bed.

"Do you want me to trust you Athan?" She asked with all seriousness and her thoughts showed no real fear of me but only fear of the situation.

"Yes" was all I said before she responded.

"Than why are you trying to make me fear you, I feared Tony, I fear Andre, but you, you I do not fear. You protected me from Tony, you protected me from Andre and even now you have the capability to hurt me but you're not going to"

I stood in silence comprehending her words. "With vampirism comes anxiety Heaven, I know I'm not going to hurt you, but our brains are very complex systems"

She looked at me long and hard and her thoughts were loud before she spoke them.

"If you go out into society as a vampire, how come nobody has figured you out yet?" She said with absolutely no fear.

I decided to be completely honest with her sense I don't intend on ever letting her go.

"us vampires have enslaved many towns, there's a town right next to this one that is totally enslaved by vampires, and honestly my father has a lot of plans for this town as well" I said with shame.

Her eyes narrowed in confusion before asking the next question that I already knew before it passed her pale lips.

"What does he have planned Athan?"

"He's planning an all out invasion Heaven, total enslavement of humans, you are indeed the first human pet in this town" I finished.

Heaven sat in silence for a long time but her thoughts were loud.

(I don't want this to happen, why does such evil exist, what if I just kill myself) she thought within her mind, but that last thought cut deep and without hesitation I spoke without thinking.

"I won't let you just fucking kill yourself Heaven, you can't run away from life's problems"

With that her head darted towards me and her eyes looked like she had just saw a ghost.

"How did you know what I was thinking Athan?" She said with pure fear and confusion mixed.

I sighed.
"I can't exactly control weather or not I read minds Hun" she cut me off there.

"I didn't give you permission to read my mind"

I snapped at her out of frustration.
"Excuse me? You didn't give ME? Permission? Sense when do you give ME permission to do anything" I said with a scowl.

"Sense we became friends Athan!!" She yelled back obviously not afraid of me anymore.

"I think you are forgetting who owns who darling" I said calmly trying not to scare her.

I needed to let her know who's in change without being a total dick. I needed to make her understand that I am not her enemy but I also do not wish to be a push over when it comes to my pets. She needs to be trained but I am not evil enough to punish her.

I sighed and placed my hand on her shoulder.

"Listen heaven, I am not evil, I am not your enemy, but I am your master and you are indeed my pet, I do not plan on hurting you. However i need you to be trained as mine and Andre's pet because once this invasion happens I am expected to treat you like my submissive"

She stared at the ground in silence.

"I refuse" she said with bitterness

"You can't just refuse darling" I said with a laugh.

"Well, I just did" I walked up the the small girl and stared down at her with a smile. "Punishment isn't what you are ready for darling"

She looked up at me with confusion and pride.

"Punishment?, how so?" She asked puckering her lips in attitude.

"Well, I have tons and tons of books, but if you wanna be a bad girl, I could always lock them away" I said in a melody as I looked off into the direction of my books. I smiled a charming smile as I noticed her expression turn from pouty to worried.

"You wouldn't" she said with worry.

I turned back towards the small girl and lifted her chin so that she was looking up at me.
"Oh but sweetheart I would" I said showing my fangs.

"You're a sadistic man" she said with her arms crossed.

"Oh I am huh?, I guess you'll just have to be a good girl than" I said with a chuckle.
