Ava walked into school, holding onto the book. Brittany pranced up to her and smiled. A smug look suddenly crossed Brittany's peachy face.
"So? What's in it?" Brittany asked her friend.
"Its a fantasy book in another language," Ava simply stated. She still didn't know if she should believe her gut or her heart on the matter. "I'm gonna keep it and try to figure out what it says."
Brittany nodded as they entered the English classroom to see a new teacher. Ava gazed at her blonde friend, confusion written all over both of their faces. Both girls parted ways to their seats then other students padded in. Ava didn't trust the new teacher and slipped her book into the bag.
"Hello students, I am your new teacher Ms. Porter," the new teacher greated.
Jace, the principal's son, raised his hand up immediately. "Where is Mrs. Smith?" He asked.
"She unfortunately passed away due to old age," Ms. Porter informed. "We'll be going over the new rules and lesson for the end of this year."
Ava raised her hand. "Why? We only have two days of school left," she stated, sounding off.
"Because I said so and I'm the teacher so you have to listen to me," Ms. Porter said, crossing her arms.
Ava rolled her eyes then gazed at her bag. She wanted to continue reading her book, to know more about the beautiful place. She wanted to be there most of all. Ms. Porter noticed Ava wasn't paying attention and walked over to her.
"I expected better from you Miss Ava. Are you not the Valedictorian?" The teacher asked with attitude.
"Aren't you a single middle aged woman who has nothing better to do than to make my life miserable?" Ava retorted, making the class go wild.

Ava drove home, ready to hear what her mother had to say about her comment to the new teacher. She pulled into the driveway then went inside holding the book. Annette was passed out on the couch, a movie playing on loop on the big screen TV.
"I wish you knew my purpose mom," Ava said covering her mom up. "I wish you would know how to let me go as well."
Ava went upstairs and closed the door behind her. She grabbed a box of items the book said she would need from under the bed and set everything up. Her hands grasped the book and she opened it to the page she needed. A good feeling pooled in her stomach as she did every step properly.
"Now sleep and thou shall wake up the the divine land of Sasione," she read.
She suddenly felt tired. She stumbled up then walked to her bed and laid down. The warmth of her comforter felt nice in the cold bedroom. Suddenly, Ava felt as if she needed to throw up but was too tired to even stand. Here eye fluttered closed and she welcomed the embrace of darkness.

The sound of birds and soft wind woke Ava up from her dreamless sleep. Her eyes gazed around to see she was in a forest of some sorts. Ruins littered the area, fascinating her. Slowly, she got to her feet and approached a large door. She pushed it open, a couple of bats flying out as she did so. Familiarity was so strong about this place and it was eating away at her. She descended the stairs to find a room full of others lost to history. She grabbed a huntress dress and held it close to her body.
"What is this place?" She asked softly.
Ava changed into the clothes and grabbed a small dagger to protect herself with. She suddenly got an awful feeling. She left the room and noticed there was some people nearby. The people didn't seem to notice her so Ava disappeared into the forest. The feeling went away making Ava sigh. Suddenly, a stick cracked nearby making the girl jump. Someone was watching her. There were more noises then she was grabbed from behind making her scream.
