"If you know what's good for you, you'd shut up. Look," a male's voice growled in Ava's ear.
The male pointed towards a group of people. They were short people. The unknown man drug Ava away and into some more ruins. There was a camp set up that was surrounded by walls. Ava sat down and gazed at the man.
"Who are you?" Ava asked.
"My name doesn't really matter but you may call me Kai for the time being," the man said, pulling his hood off to reveal a set of long pointy elf ears that peeked out of his ginger hair.
Ava took in more of the man's appearance. He seemed to be a year or so older with strange purple eyes. He seemed stressed with bags under his eyes.
"Kai? What's wrong?" Ava's voice rang to the male.
"Those were dwarfs. They're looking for me," he muttered, scaling the wall and sitting on top of it. "I'm a thief and I'm looking for a special item."
His eyes fell upon the book in her arms. Shock crossed his face as he couldn't believe his eyes. "No way.... You're the kid from the prophecy," he said, excitement in his voice.
Ava immediately grew uncomfortable. She didn't understand what was up with Kai. He went on and on before stopping a moment."Wake up princess! We got a journey to start!" Kai exclaimed, making Ava mad.
Ava stood then grabbed him by his ear. "Can you shut the hell up!?" She growled at the elf. This guy is exactly like Brittany.
Kai just smiled and then they departed into the forest.~
"Kai? Where are the other elves?" Ava asked as they walked through the forest.
"I think I'm the last one," he admitted. "I haven't seen another one in years."
Ava bit her lip, knowing she hit a nerve. Kai pulled his hood up as they got to a walled city. Ava grabbed Kai's arm then two guards stepped in front of them.
"Is he your elf?" The large elf grumbled.
Ava nodded then they entered the city. Kai looked upset then she hugged him. He gazed down at her and smiled.
"Don't worry, I'm fine," Kai said, patting her head. "Once the prophecy is fulfilled we can be free."
Ava was taken to an inn where they checked in then Kai gave her a bag with change. "Go into town and get some armor and a sword for the journey. You're gonna need it," he said, sitting on the bed.
Ava left then found a blacksmith right away. She gazed around the shop until she found a sword she liked and grabbed it. A large man with a long beard approached her, chuckling.
"You're too little for that one missy," he chuckled. "Here, let me assist ya. I'm Alphonso, this is my shop."
"I'm Ava," she greeted the large man. "I need a sword and some armor. I'm on a journey."
"Ah. You're that little girl who was with that elf. Ok let's get you situated," Alphonso chuckled.~
Hey little readers. How do you like the book so far? I'd love to get feedback from all of you. This book has become my focus so I might post at least twice a day since I'm unemployed at the moment and I'm waiting for my college to start. Ideas on how to proceed are welcome.
