The next day, we were all down in the lab to continue the rats training. "Okay, guys! The next phase of your training is handling extreme climates," I told them and they nodded.

"So, we'll frost Chase, bake Bree, and submerge Adam," Mr. Davenport said. "That's not part of their training, I just got one of those carnival dunk tanks and I can't wait to try it out," Mr. Davenport laughed.

Chase went over to his capsule and got inside it excitedly. "Ok, Chase, we're setting your tube on antarctic," I told him.

"If it gets to be too much, just give us a sign," Mr. Davenport added and Chase nodded.

"Bring it," Chase said confidently as the tube powered up.

"Hey, that's not fair!" Leo started whining. "I wanna be abused by weather!"

"Leo, if you really wanna be abused, try standing over here next to Adam's morning breath," Bree said.

"I don't have morning breath," Adam argued and we all looked at him. "It smells like that all day!" I shuddered. Ew.

"Leo, these guys are genetically engineered to handle these kind of climates, you're not," Mr. Davenport said to his step-son.

"I can handle extreme cold," Leo said confidently.

I gave him a look. "Leo, you get brain freeze from chewing mint gum," I said and Leo glared at me.

Suddenly, Mr. Davenport's phone started ringing. "Davenport," he answered. "WHAT?! Well that's terrible!" he said as he crossed the room. We followed in pursuit. "I mean that's awesome, but that's terrible!" he was pacing the room now. "I gotta do something," Mr. Davenport said and hung up.

"W-What's going on? What's so terrible?" Adam asked.

"Well, I created the world's fastest train, but now it's speeding out of control full of highly explosive nuclonium towards downtown Welkerville!" he explained and my eyes got wide.

"Well then what was awesome?" Bree asked confused.

"It's going like 400 miles an hour," he replied and we all smirked in amazement. "My entire career is riding, or perhaps crashing on this train! And I don't understand, my design was flawless!" he cried as he got onto the computer. I got onto another computer bringing up the blueprints.

"So flawless that you forgot to include an emergency brake?" Leo asked smugly.

"No, I never accounted on the conductor dropping his papaya smoothie all over the controls and then jumping off the train!" he replied.

"Well, if I were to build a high speed train, the first thing I would've put in was a cupholder," Adam said. "Oh! And one of those bumper stickers on the back that says, 'I brake for cows'!"

Mr. Davenport gave him a look before continuing. "You know, when stuff like this happens, they always blame the scientist. This is human error. Scientists don't make mistakes," Mr. Davenport said.

"Yeah, that's wrong," I said. "Exhibit A," I said and pointed to a frozen Chase.

"Chase, now I have to explain the whole train story again," Mr. Davenport groaned. Mr. Davenport and I went over to the control panel and turned off Chase's capsule while Bree super speeded upstairs and got Chase a few blankets. We eventually got Chase de-frosted and he was now sitting with a blanket around his arms with both him and me rubbing his arms.
