Brooke's P.O.V

Prevent yourself from going to jail; from this life. I know my requests sound selfish, but you have to save them.

Future Me's words kept ringing in my head throughout the entire day. I was hardly able to concentrate in class. Chase had noticed my off behavior all day but never said anything. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw a flash of the steely grey wolf eyes of my future self.

"Brooke!"

I jumped slightly. I had forgotten that the Leo's were with me at my locker, younger Leo saying something about a date with Janelle, but I was too lost in thought to pay enough attention.

"Brooke, were you even listening to me?" Leo asked, growing aggravated.

"Yeah, yeah. Janelle, movie tonight, yadda yadda yadda..." I said resuming putting my books in my locker.

"Brooke!" Leo whined. "You know I've been waiting for this for so long and you're not even listening!"

Future Leo put a hand on Leo's shoulder. "Don't get mad at her Leo, she's probably still thinking about this morning," he said calmly. I nodded my head in thanks. Leo didn't need to know what I become.

"I really am happy for you Leo, I'm just very lost right now," I said. I closed my locker and heaved my backpack over my shoulder. "You should get to class Leo, you're usually late to Mrs. Henninger's."

Leo's eyes widened as he realized I was right. He took off down the hall, not even waiting for future Leo. Future Leo shook his head at his past self. He put a gentle, comforting hand on my shoulder before taking off after Leo.

"Hey."

I jumped again and turned to face Chase and Bree.

"Jeez Brooke, it's only us," Bree said, laughing slightly.

Chase, however, didn't laugh. He just stared at me. It's been a bit awkward since I had snapped at him this morning. Though the situation may save Adam, Bree and Chase's lives, it's caused a lot of tension between all of us.

I let out a pathetic laugh. "Right, you guys just startled me that's all," I covered. "Come on, we have study hall."

I reached for Chase's hand to hold, but he seemed hesitant to hold it back. Bree passed by us to go to study hall, but when her back was turned, Chase's hand slipped from mine. My face fell as Chase walked away from me.

The ride home was silent, as for once I left without Chase accompanying me. I needed time alone. I spent the whole day thinking, and I still couldn't help but feel guilty about what happened that morning. I walked into the lab, a sullen look on my face as I looked at Davenport, still working on a rover. "You're still working on that?" I asked, heaving my bag over my shoulder again.

Davenport screamed a little and almost dropped his welder in shock, which made me feel a little better. Davenport composed himself and he looked at me. "Yes, been working all day. Now help me."

"Got it." I tossed my bag to to the side, grabbed a pair of gloves and a mask.

I held part of the machine up as Davenport continued to weld parts onto the rover. Neither of us looked up as the doors opened, but we knew it was the Leo's when Leo greeted us, "Hey Big D, hey Brooke. Got an A on my history test."

Davenport stopped welding to lift up his mask and I did the same. "Yeah? Did you cheat by getting the answers from future you?" he inquired.

Both Leo's looked at each other before completely changing the subject. "So, how's that rover coming along?"
