Brooklyn P.O.V
I was walking with Bree at school when Adam decided that he wanted to show us his locker. "Oh, check out what I've done with my locker!" Adam said and we all went over to it. He opened it up to reveal the weirdest locker I have ever seen. "Ta da! Here's where I keep my books. Down here I keep random strands of hair I've collected to make fake mustaches," he said and held some up to his face.
"Ok, ew," I remarked.
Adam ignored me and went on. "And here is where I stockpile old lunches! Or as I like to call them, my tum tum yum yums!" he explained excitedly. Bree and i exchanged weird glances before just shaking our heads at Adam.
"Hey Leo," I said as he walked over to us.
"What's that?" Bree asked, referring to the paper he was holding.
"My progress report. I can't believe my science teacher says I'm always late to class!" he exclaimed and I rolled my eyes at him.
"You are always late to class," Adam stated.
"I know that, but I don't need it publicized," Leo retorted.
Just then Chase scurried over to us. "Look at this!" he exclaimed holding a progress report of his own. "An A-?! I knew my home-ec teacher had it out for me, always criticizing my muffins."
Adam took his progress report out. "Ha ha! I beat you! I got a D+! Plus because I'm better!" Adam exclaimed happily and we all just gave him a look.
"Adam, the plus is -" Bree stopped mid-sentence realizing who she was talking to. "You know what? It's just not even worth it anymore."
"D is not a good grade. But we don't really expect you to get good grades," Chase said and I nodded a little. Hey I love Adam as a brother but he's not the brightest. "I'm engineered to be the smartest person on the planet! And I just got an A-! I've been relegated to the huddled, unwashed masses of minuses! Like you!" he exclaimed referring to Bree, Leo, Adam and I. I cleared my throat. "Except Brooke," he added.
"Thank you," I said. Chase smiled at me and wrapped an arm around my waist. Together we walked over to the bench and sat down.
"Chase, I know this must be hard for you, but I mean, look on the bright side," Bree said trying to cheer Chase up. "Seeing you fall flat on your face is really fun for us!" she exclaimed happily and Leo nodded. I rolled my eyes.
"I have got to find a way to reclaim my superiority," Chase said.
Leo looked like he had an idea and I knew what he was going to say. "Leo Dooley, don't you dare suggest it, the boy's already got a big enough ego as it is," I said and Chase glared at me. I kissed his cheek and he automatically felt better.
Leo decided to ignore me anyway. "Well, you could sign up for the student of the semester competition," Leo suggested and I face palmed myself.
"Dammit Leo!" I said under my breath.
"What's that?" Chase asked Leo in curiosity.
"Every semester, kids compete to see who can best improve the school. Whoever gets the most votes wins free pencils, a bumper sticker and a cheesy picture of themselves on the wall," Leo explained pointing to the wall by the staircase where a picture of a girl who didn't look ready for the picture was.
"And that cheesy picture will show everyone that my brilliance reigns supreme! I am so gonna win!" Chase exclaimed standing up. I face palmed myself. I swear, he's exactly like Davenport at times.
"Oh! I call your free pencils!" Adam said excitedly. "No wait, I'll take the cheesy picture. Ugh, they both sound so good!"
Soon the bell rang and Adam and Chase looked at each other. "Race ya!" they shouted and they ran into the cafeteria.
