Bionic Birthday Fail (part 2)

Chase, Adam and I were currently in the lab blowing up balloons for Leo's party. I had made a few calls and already had like 40 people from school already RSVP. Being known at school has its perks. Bree was upstairs in my lab monitoring the animal mutation plant while making some other calls to reserve a clown, Glitterhead, Sharkman and Flipperboy, and to buy a piñata and a bouncy house. "Wait a second. How are we gonna get all these balloons upstairs without Leo noticing?" Chase asked.

"Good question," I said, thinking about it.

"Oh, no problem," Adam said. He took a pencil and started popping all the balloons except the one on his head.

Both Chase and I looked at him like he was insane. Well, it is Adam. Leo then came into the room looking quite upset. Tasha and Davenport must have left for the awards banquet. Adam and Chase quickly hid all the balloon scraps and the helium tank. Chase quickly discarded the balloon hat on Adams head. "Guys, my mom's actually going to an awards banquet. She's not throwing me a surprise party," he said sadly.

"Oh, no! That's awful!" Chase said, like he didn't already know. "We gotta go."

"Later, bro," Adam said and the two bolted.

"Hey, where you goin'? It's my birthday!" Leo shouted after them.

I walked up to Leo and put an arm around his shoulder. "I'm really sorry, Leo. I know this must be hard for you," I said.

"Yeah, and please don't take offense to this, but I know how you normally feel on your birthdays," he said.

"No offense taken. I get it. It's hard. But, I still have my surprise ready for you," I said with a smirk.

Leo perked up. "Wait, where are we going this year?" he asked.

I smirked again. "I was thinking...behind the scenes passes for The Avengers and a meeting with the actors as well," I said.

His eyes widened and he started jumping up and down like the fanboy he is. "OHMYGOSHOHMYGOSHOHMYGOSH!!!! BROOKE YOU ARE THE BESTEST FRIEND EVER!!!!!!" he shouted and started hugging me.

I laughed. "Yeah, we're going tomorrow. And bring your phone fully charged and your autograph book," I said.

"Thanks so much, Brooke."

"Hey, what are best friends for?" We started walking toward the doors to leave but they closed on us.

"Eddy, open these doors," Leo said.

"Oh, but if I did that, I'd ruin the surprise party they're planning for you," Eddy said.

"Eddy!" I snapped.

Leo looked at us wide eyed. "You guys are throwing a surprise party?" he asked me.

"Surprise?" I said.

"Yeah, what a bunch of lame-o's. I wouldn't expect much," Eddy said.

I then realized something. "Wait, Eddy, did Adam and Chase tell you to lock the doors?" I asked.

"Yeah, why?"

My eyes narrowed. I huffed. "Well, Leo. You're going to have company down here until they come and get you because Eddy can't let you out without letting me out so we're both stuck down here," I said.
