More than a week had passed since she had left Fred standing alone in his flat after the dinner they had had together. The first couple of days went by without hearing word of her, which he hoped to change on Friday night as he joined her friends in Vipers later at night for drinks.

He casually brought up the topic that he hadn't seen Beatrice in a while and they all agreed, and that's when he decided to take more drastic measures. Was it an impulsive decision to knock on the wand shop's front door? Definitely yes. But did Fred Wealey know how to respect boundaries? Absolutely not. He grew up with six more siblings after all.

Amelia opened the door, rubbing her eyes since it was late at night and she was about to head off to sleep. "Hey Fred, what are you doing here?"

"Hey, I know it's stupid and all but I haven't seen your sister in a while, no one really has so I was wondering if she was upstairs?" he said worriedly.

"Yeah, she's fine but isn't really in the mood to see anyone right now," Amelia mumbled. "I'll tell her that you stopped by-"

"Can you also tell her that I'm sorry?" he asked. "I want to say it to her in person and explain so many things but it's being easier said than done. When she's in the mood to see people, just tell her that I need to see her-"

"It's fine Fred, I'll tell her," Amelia nodded. "I should probably get to bed now, so goodnight."

"Yeah, good night," he pressed his lips in a thin smile before walking back towards the joke shop.

"Who was it?" Beatrice asked her sister once she came back inside the already silenced bathroom.

"It was Fred and he wanted to ask about you," Amelia shrugged and sat on the bathroom floor on Theo's other side.

"Doesn't he get tired of chasing you already?" Theo groaned before emptying the contents of his stomach again inside the toilet.

"Maybe you should focus on feeling better than getting into my messes," Bea said quietly and rubbed his back as he continued to throw up. "It's been a week since you stopped and you're doing great-"

"Easy for you to say," he snapped.

"So irritability is still going strong," Amelia said under her breath. "So far it's been that, nausea, vomiting, mood and appetite changes and fatigue."

"Why don't the two of you get a life of your own and stop messing with my fucking one," Theo said angrily.

"Because we're family and we don't abandon each other when life gets hard," Beatrice said. "You're gonna get through this again and we're gonna help you get your shit together again Theo. That's what sisters do-"

"That's what parents should do, not sisters-"

"Well we don't have any of those Amelia," Beatrice hissed. "It's always been us three and it will continue to be us three."

"What about grandfather?" Theo asked.

"He doesn't know the whole story, and he never will know the hell that we had to go through before he got to us," Beatrice whispered. "Amelia go to bed, I can handle this."

"Why do you keep treating me like a child despite the fact that I'm eighteen?" she huffed.

"Just go to bed," Beatrice ordered and with no more protest, Amelia left her older siblings alone in the bathroom.

Another week went by and Beatrice was nowhere to be seen. She hadn't left the flat and hadn't seen anyone but her family, and her friends were now getting more worried as the days passed. Fred couldn't stop overthinking. Intrusive thoughts carving themselves into his brain since he though that her sudden disappearance had been a result after the disastrous dinner in his flat.
