Beatrice couldn't breathe.
She tried but everytime she did, she felt as if her lungs were being stabbed over and over again.
She sank to her knees, unable to contain the loud pained sobs tumbling out of her lips and unconsciously apparated to the first place that flashed through her mind.
Cedric was sitting on his sofa, having a drink and reading a book when the loud apparition crack on his door startled him. He instantly jumped off from the sofa and made his way to the door with his wand raised, which he instantly dropped on the floor as he rushed to Beatrice who was on her knees on his doorstep.
"You're gonna freeze to death B," Cedric said worriedly and gently picked her up in his arms, making their way back to the sofa and letting her down.
She couldn't stop crying and in all honesty, Cedric had no idea what to do since he had never seen Beatrice cry ever before. He simply remained quiet, rubbing her back soothingly as strangled sobs and whimpers left her lips and her tears stained the Hufflepuff quidditch jumper he was wearing.
"Bea, I need you to breathe alright," he pleaded the moment she began hyperventilating, well knowing that if she didn't she would have a panick attack like she often had while at school.
"I can't, I can't," she cried louder and struggled to breathe.
The air couldn't reach her lungs.
"What happened B, did you go to Fred?" Cedric asked, summoning a glass of water from the kitchen.
"He left me," she wept and buried her face on his chest, crying louder than before.
"Oh Bea," he whispered, unsure of what to say or how to act. Beatrice had never sought for physical comfort in the eleven years he had known her but if that's what she needed, he would comply without a doubt.
"I can't breathe," she sniffled. "I can't breathe without him, I need him Ced."
"I know love, let it all out okay," he assured. "I'm here alright, I'm not going anywhere."
"He told me the truth about what had happened and said that we couldn't be together because it would only put me in danger," she trembled in Cedric's arms. "He said that he wasn't good for me and what he had done was unforgivable but I told him that it wasn't but he insisted and didn't listen.
"He promised me he would never hurt me and that he would never leave me but I can't breathe. And I know he did it to keep me safe but I can't live without him. What if someone hurts him or something happens to him and this is the last time?" she whimpered. "I can't be without him."
"It's okay love-"
"It hurts so much," she let out a shaky breath as Cedric stroked her hair in a brother-like manner.
"I know it does," he nodded. "Come on B, let's get you to bed."
Beatrice didn't have the strength nor the will power to say no to Cedric carry her into his bed. She had never cried as much as she had done since Fred left her mere hours ago. She wanted to stop crying but her eyes refused.
She was certain that her tears must have run out as she lied on Cedric's bed, clutching his jumper and begging for the pain engraved in each of her cells to stop. She just wanted it to stop.
Cedric didn't find any peace that night in the slightest. Beatrice had cried herself to sleep in his arms and he didn't dared to close his eyes and get some rest in case she woke up and needed him again.
