Fred was once again running late for another Order meeting.

He finished doing paperwork and inventory around midnight and sat on his desk for a good half and hour staring melancholically at a polaroid picture of him and Beatrice they had taken while on their three day trip to Scotland.

That picture had been the calm before the storm unleashed.

He went inside 12 Grimmauld Place after placing all the necessary enchantments back to protect the Order's secret location before going into the dining room to take his seat next to his twin.

"You're late," his mother said sternly the moment he sat down.

"I was busy," Fred rolled his eyes. "Believe it or not, I also have other shit to get done-"

"Watch that tone Frederick," Molly Weasley said through gritted teeth, which in response he muttered something under his breath that only George had been able to hear.

Moments later after Fred had arrived to the meeting, all chatter died down when Dumbledore entered the room with Harry, Sirius and a girl with brown hair and blue eyes he had come to know well.

His brown eyes met the sky blue eyes that were a shade lighter than her sister's and a cold shiver ran down his spine. She shouldn't have to be involved in any of it.

"I would like all to welcome the newest member of the Order of the Phoenix," Dumbledore said happily, taking his seat at the head of the table. "I believe most of you are familiarized with Amelia Circe Nott?"

"Hello," Amelia smiled shyly and took a seat next to Harry who was grinning cheerfully with his arm thrown around the girl's shoulders, the latter who was avoiding Fred's piercing gaze.

"Glad to have you here Ames," Ginny beamed.

"Hypocrite," George coughed and sent his sister a dirty glance, well knowing that she wouldn't be as welcoming if it was another Nott sitting there instead.

"Had it coming," Fred shrugged indifferently. He and George loved Ginny and each of their siblings, no doubt of that, but neither of them were afraid to call them out when they were in the wrong.

That was something that Ginny and Percy especially hated.

Hearing about the latest news about slaughtered muggle and half-blood families, along with more and more disappearances made Fred feel sick to his stomach. But that feeling, could not begin to compare at the knowledge that there had been a mass breakout from Azkaban and the Ministry was hiding it from the public.

Unsuccessfully, of course.

He felt absolutely terrified knowing that Genevieve Could eventually get to Beatrice. And he felt even more terrified, knowing that the heartless woman wouldn't hesitate in hurting her if given the opportunity to do so.

His intrusive and all consuming thoughts were interrupted again when his twin's voice mentioned his name, as he commented what the two of them had been discussing a couple of days prior to the meeting.

"Fred and I were speaking the other day and since we are aware that the number of Voldemort's armies are increasing, maybe it's time that we do the same."

"That is indeed not a bad idea George," Sirius nodded. "And who may you and Fred suggest to introduce to the Order?"

"We all know that most Gryffindors, Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws will be on board," Fred trailed off. "And maybe it's time we leave the house prejudice aside and ask a group of former Slytherins to join as well-"
