The world wasn't a perfect place. Everyone who ever lived fucking knew that.
There couldn't be white without black.
Light without darkness.
Good without evil.
The curious part that not many acknowledged that during times of war, there was also grey.
Grey was the person who didn't choose a side to fight for.
Grey was the person unable to make that decision.
It was true, the world wasn't divided between good people and death eaters.
Beatrice was that grey. She was that middle point that didn't dare to choose a side.
Of course it was bloody wrong, especially knowing that one of those sides really was in the hunt for blood purity even if that meant taking down hundreds of thousands to achieve that perfection.
And no matter how much she wanted to choose the good side. The light.
If she did, she would be signing the death sentence of one of her siblings.
Beatrice could easily choose a side. But every time it came close to it, she found herself unable to do so.
She was grey.

"Gentlemen, we have been waiting for you," said Lord Voldemort in his eerie voice from his make-shift throne at the head of the table. "Let's see who we have here, Draco, Blaise, Mattheo and Theodore. Where do Vincent and Gregory happen to be?"
"They're cleaning themselves up my Lord, hex gone wrong," Draco Malfoy replied and sat next to his father.
"Ah yes, as long as that was the only mistake during the mission you boys were-"
"It was my Lord, there were no other mistakes," the boy with brown hair and compelling blue eyes interrupted and sat next to his mother.
"I am pleased to hear that Theodore," the Dark Lord said as Nagini snaked herself aroud her master. "Where is the other group Genie?"
"If everything went according to plan, they are supposed to be coming in right now my Lord," the blonde woman took a glance at her watch from her seat to the right of Voldemort.
"Very good," the man's, if he could be considered so, snake-like features lit up. Only a selected few had had in their phrasing, the 'honor' to see him at his more human form. "Ah, here they come."
"I have blood in my hair Aster, it's a really big deal to me!" Emmeline Yaxley shrieked since she thought they were out of earshot.
"And I told you for the hundredth time that I don't give a fuck," Aster Malfoy groaned.
"Look at you two, already fighting like a married couple and haven't put on a ring on it yet," Florence Travers taunted in her monotone voice. "Don't mind me, right now the two of you are my source of entertainment."
"Can't you just shut up?" Juliette Greengrass said exasperatedly. "I can't even hear myself think because of you."
"We weren't saying anything," said Greyson Goyle and pointed at himself and Cameron Crabbe.
"I wasn't even talking to you," Juliette rolled her eyes. "I'm surrounded by idiots-"
"Who are you calling an idiot Greengrass?"

FanfictionEveryone knew the cliché. It wasn't a secret. Cold hearted Slytherin falls for a warm and overly loud Gryffindor. That wasn't Beatrice's case. She was the cold hearted Slytherin, but the simple concept of love bored her to death. She had known love...
