Song Rec. - Trust by Brent Faiyez

"That's a child Elena," John whispers next to me.

I shrug my shoulders, obviously it was a child, but of course, I understand why it was so surprising.

Zemo walked up to the little girl as she fiddled with her sleeve. He pulled out a wad of money and greeted her.

"Hello my friend, this is for your family."

She snatches the money, John letting out a noise of bafflement as Zemo continued.

"Can you show us the way?"

The little girl nodded, leading us into the building to our right, all of us following with no question.

"What the hell?" John comments.

"You don't see much do you, John?" I comment, letting Bucky step first as John and Lemar follow behind through the doorway.

"How do you guys trust this guy? Don't you know his history?"

"Well, I guess it's like me and you guys then right?" I suggest, receiving a scoff from Bucky as he looks over at me.

John continued, ignoring the exchange. "Zemo's a terrible person...and definitely not as attractive if we're comparing."

My eyes widen, looking over at John with a crooked smile as he made the air heavy around us.

"I heard that, but I won't argue." Zemo comments ahead, still leading the way with the little girl.

At that Bucky moved closer to me, taking my hand, as he looks over at John with a glare.

I watch their exchange as John's eyes narrow, shaking his head as he looks ahead.

Bucky nodded his head and finally looked away, catching as I looked at him with raised eyebrows.

"What?" He asks, an innocent look on his face as I purse my lips.

"Nothing," I reply, shaking my head and looking ahead, a smile tugging at the corner of my mouth as I soaked in his jealousy.

I wanted them to get along, they all were important to me in a way, but that small gesture had my cheeks rosy in appreciation.

Looking down at our joined hands, even if his was a cybernetic hand, they fitted so well.

It wasn't the hand I held in the 40s, but I still felt the familiarity of it as the largeness of it comparably made my hand small.

"Karli's in there." Zemo speaks up, we all stop next to some boilers as the little girl returns back to where she came from.

Sam starts walking to the doorway, my hand releasing Bucky's to grab ahold of his arm, his face turning towards me as I looked at him with a worried expression.

I knew Sam could handle himself, but I also knew that John and Lemar were right, he was going in there alone and without any preparation for a fight.

"I'll be fine, Elena." He says as if reading my mind, giving me a reassuring smile as he walks forward.

"You got ten minutes," John warns behind me, as I turn he snatches up Zemo, slamming him against the boiler and cuffing him into the boiler wheel.

"Really?" Zemo comments, face smooshed against the rust.
