Sage

We all stayed with dad and spoke for a bit, catching up with him, then we went for lunch while Ashton, Rory and Michael went to see him.

He seemed cheerful, despite being tired, and remembered lots of things.

In the canteen we all got sandwiches, then sat down together, my siblings either side of me.

"The doctors said I can go home soon," Rider said, "Maybe tomorrow,"

"That's good!"

"Then I can go back to school,"

"Maybe you will want to rest some more,"

"No, I want everyone to see my cast," he said stubbornly.

"Have you showered with it yet?"

"No, I need help, but I only want you to help me,"

"Maybe one of the guys should help instead of me,"

"I want you,"

"Things are different now, I don't think I should help,"

"I will put swimming shorts on,"

"Maybe,"

Gia had left while we argued, and returned with brownies for us all, so we ate them, and she leant into my side as we did.

Once we were done, we begged Luke to take us back up to dad, and he always gave in easily, so we piled back into his room.

I had missed his smile, and his gentleness.

"You guys need to tell me everything I missed!"

"You're sat up now," Rider said, "I want to sit with you,"

"Sit on the chairs for now, I still feel a bit poorly. We can cuddle before you leave,"

"Okay. I feel like I have also just been laying in bed not knowing whats happening,"

"Have you been doing school work or anything?"

"A bit,"

"Don't push yourself bud, I'd rather you get to rest than do work. Did you do work, Sage?"

"Yeah, but only because I wanted to,"

"Mhm... what about you Gia?"

She shrugged, but then began to sniff, and shook her head.

"Gia stayed off school," Luke said, "She stayed a bit with Ashton,"

"It's okay angel, I understand. As long as you all catch up, it's okay. You guys must have been so upset,"

"It wasn't your fault," I said, "And now you are awake so it is good,"

"I just want to come home and spend so much time with you all. I promise we will make up for it,"

"It's okay, dad. We have lots of time together!" Rider said, "We get to stay, right?"

"Of course you get to stay, I can look after you,"

"Good,"

"I'm feeling a bit tired now, so I am gonna have a nap. You should get home and rest too,"

"I wanna stay," Gia begged, "Let me stay until you come home,"

"We can call later,"

I nodded and gave him another hug, then Gia crawled onto his bed and clung onto him, shaking her head.

"Let me stay. Let me stay please,"

"I'll be home soon,"

"Now,"
