Mercury(And The Chaos In Their Life) Part 3

Chapter 4, Injury

-Vix's POV continued-

I wake up to a phone call that shook me awake, I groaned and grabbed the phone and turned on the lamp. "Hello?" I say in a tired tone, "You're awake! You don't have to come to work today. We have enough people." It was my manager who called, "Boss, its fucking 3:40AM, you could've told me that later.." I sighed, I hung up and put my face into the pillow and fell asleep.

Hours pass by and I put my head up, I get up slowly, felt tired, and fell off the bed. "Shit.." I rubbed my head and chuckled. Luckily it wasn't a harsh fall, I got up and see Mercury walking in. "You're awake! its 8AM..Aren't you about to be late?" They chuckled and I shook my head no. "Got a call at like 3 something in the morning, it was my manager that told me I don't have work today." I stretched my arms, "Well we can go out for a bit if you'd like." Mercury smiled at me, "Sure, we haven't done that in a while." I say excitedly. "I'm glad!" Mercury sits on the bed and grabs their stuff. I get ready too, it didn't take that long. I finished early.

-Mercury's POV-

I finish, and looked behind to see Vix putting a thumbs up. I also put a thumbs up back. We hold hands and left the room. "Well lets have fun today." I grasped Vix's hands tight. We left the house and we both run to the city.

We made it, we were both laughing. We weren't that tired, and had fun. We went into a library that I used to go to a lot, and looked for book that we were interested in.

-Vix's POV-

I search around the books, I look over to see someone who looked familiar. "Fen?" I say, Fen looks over to see me. "Oh hey! Wasn't expecting to see you here!" Fen walked towards me. "Yeah, Mercury took me here. They should be around here." I look around see Mercury entering my aisle. "Found ya!" Mercury smiles, but looks over. "Fen?" Mercury waved. Fen waves, "How are you doing?" Fen went up to them. "Pretty good!" Mercury puts a small thumbs up.

Fen gets close and talks to them, Mercury looked uncomfortable and so did I. "Uh hey Mercury? Wanna go somewhere else now?" I said nervously, I felt a small sting of anger.

Mercury nodded and held my hand, Fen looked over staring at me and gave me a small glare. "Can I go too?" Fen puts their hand up. "Sure.." Mercury sounded nervous. "Yay!" Fen gets close right next to Mercury. Mercury look away and looked at me instead.

We all left the library and went to the bridge that crosses the other side of the city. Staring at the view was beautiful, it was cloudy yet the sun was shining brightly and beautiful. I look over to see Fen getting close to Mercury, They felt uncomfortable and scooted away a little. They got closer to me eventually, I hugged them slightly. I look up too see Fen death glaring me. They put their bag down and took out a bat.

  My eyes widened and I push Mercury behind me, I didn't pay attention and Fen charges towards me with the bat.

My arms could barely move but I pushed them off a little but they came back
They punch me and my nose bled I couldn't move anymore

I fainted

-Mercury's POV-

I raged and grabbed Fen, and push them to the ground. I scratched them and held them down. "GET OFF!!" Fen yells. I screamed in anger and took the bat away from them. I held it up and I smiled. "Die."

I feel someone's hand on my shoulder, it's Vix. "Hold on.." I move away. Vix bends down at them slowly.

-Vix's POV-

I smiled widely
"Do It Again." I get closer to their face
"Huh?" Fen looked scared and back away from me
"I said, do it again, HURT ME AGAIN...!!!" I yelled at them, I slowly walk towards them. "Whats wrong?" I stop smiling and they panicked.
"I'm sorry..-I-" Fen stops while I slam them down.

"HAHAHAHHAHAHA!" I laughed and smiled again, I strangled them slowly. They broke free and left.

"Shit."I whisper, I still smile but felt dizzy. The pain gets worse in my head, I still kept smiling. I look behind to see Mercury grabbing bandages out of their bag. I snap back, "Fuck.." I realized what I've done. Mercury bandages my head and they wiped my nose with some paper that they also grabbed.

"You okay now?" Mercury hugged me, "Yeah.." I felt comforted by them. I hugged them back and they lifted me up. We grabbed our bags and went home together.

"Hey did you actually enjoy being hurt" Mercury looks over at me. "What do you mean?" I say nervously. "Well you were laughing while you were in pain. So I just thought that?" Mercury stops walking.

I stopped, "Well- Uh it was a way to scare them off.."  I smiled nervously and Mercury got closer towards me. "Uh-Huh..It looked like you were being serious." Mercury crosses their arms at me. I sighed, "I don't know I guess, I just reacted as that." I continued to walk and thought about it. Mercury grabs my hand. We were almost home.

We reached the house and unlocked the door, We both walk in and see Lilith exit the kitchen. They slouched and looked disappointed, I tried to speak but then Lilith cut me off. "Don't say it." Lilith walks away and enters their room. We look over to see Arcane staring at us in fear and looked away. We both went into our room and sat right next to each other. It was awfully awkward and we both laughed together.

-Hours Pass-

Lilith went into our room earlier and healed my head. I didn't need to wear a bandage anymore.

  I still felt so shaken of what Happened to me last Night. I start to bite my nails.  "Vix?" I hear Mercury's voice behind me.

"Mercury?" I turn around, they were slowly getting up from their sleep.

"What's wrong? Have you been sitting the entire time? Have you slept?" Mercury sounded worried, I feel them slowly wrap their arms around my waist. I shook up violently, remembering everything. I FELT DISGUSTING AGAIN.

"Don't touch me there."

I breathed in
then out.

"I'm fine, really." I say, but still felt Pained.

"No you're not." Mercury said in a stern voice. "Tell me..what's wrong?"

I hesitated.
I didn't want to remember as I Spoke.
"Was it that painful?" Mercury hugged me.
I nodded. "I'm sorry for hugging you there..." I could hear their voice break a little.

"It's okay, because I trust you."

"Last night....I was trying to go grocery shopping for a little bit since we were running out of bandages and a few food items we had. But When I tried to reach to grocery store...." I Stopped and felt tears. I continued anyways,

  "I was stopped by somebody...And that Somebody did Bad Things to me, they hurt me, tried to touch me somewhere I didn't want them to, I WAS THROWN TO THE GROUND, THEY TOWERED OVER ME, I COULDN'T ESCAPE THEIR GRASP, THEY DID THINGS TO ME—-" I yelled and shook aggressively. I sobbed after. Mercury comforted me, their warmth....

"I had to kill them." I say while hugging Mercury back and patting their head. "It happened many times before....It Was Painful."

"I'm sorry..that it all happened to you....You don't deserve it, If it Ever happens again please tell me, I'll stain my hands with blood to kill them." Mercury was in tears too, "Thanks..but...At least make me join in the killing.." I laugh and so did Mercury.

I kissed them. I Missed their Warmth.
I stop. "Thanks."
"For..what?" Mercury was confused.
"Ah..for comforting me." I chuckle.
"Oh..of course!" They clasp my hands.

We both went to sleep after.
