Chapter 15, Sudden Pt. 2

-Last Chapter-

-Mercury's POV-

Cross comes towards me first, I dodge again successfully. "COME HERE YOU LITTLE SHIT!!!" Cross yells, I run away immediately.

Vix tackles them and slams them to the ground as Cross tries to break free from Vix's grasp. They back away in a hurry and Cross gets up, they looked angry. Lilith attacks them with their magic as their hand glows white.

Cross gets thrown to a wall, and Lilith deactivates their skill. "They recover easily when hurt, be careful." Lilith says right next to me, I nodded as I watched Cross get up slowly.

"Maybe I should actually try now..." Cross death glares at us with a smile, they take out a sharp knife that brightened with a white light and ran towards us.

Me and Lilith ran separate ways, "DAMN IT!!" Cross yells as they looked left and right. Vix attacks Cross again while holding them down from the back, "Stay Down.." Vix forces them down but Cross lets go and pushes Vix off. Vix hits their head on the concrete, "Vix?" I say while getting close to them. They twitched and started laughing. "Knew it.." I whispered and I watched Vix tackled Cross down. They started to beat the shit out of Cross while laughing(in pain), "ENOUGH!!" Cross yells and breaks away from Vix's grasp. "Enough holding back now.." Cross smiled and their hand glows, shards start to rain down. They looked dead and—

They started to explode.

We start running immediately, one hits me but I was still alive. But the feeling was painful as if something heavy was slammed into me. "AGGH!!" I drop to the ground, I get up slowly and start running away from the shards. I hid in an alleyway, Vix did too, Arcane and Lilith were protecting themselves with a shield.

It ends and I walk out the same time with Vix, "You're all still alive, that's surprising. If multiple hit you. You'd be dead." Cross smirked, both of their hands glow. Crosses appear right above them, small and big ones. They fall down on us. We all start running and one lands on my hand. "AAAAAAAGGHH!!" I fall to the ground I screamed in pain as the cross digs into my hand. The cross disappears. "MERCURY!!" Vix calls for my name.

Cross blocked Vix including Lilith and Arcane. I get grabbed by Cross with their white arm. "I'm surprised, one got you huh?" Cross chuckles, "Weak.."Cross whispers.

I couldn't understand what was happening anymore. I could only see everyone's shocked faces. I get thrown at a wall with Vix, we both land on each other. "Mercury...you okay?" They look at me and crouched in pain. I get up and I shook my head no in fear. after that...I felt dizzy and I fainted...

-Vix's POV-

"MERCURY!!" I yell, but the pain in my head gets worse. "God damn it.." I whisper, "I'll heal your head." Lilith walks towards me. "Heal Mercury first.." I quietly say but they never heard me. I sat there staring at Mercury, feeling awful. I see Arcane successfully making hits on Cross. Cross gives up and backs away. They noticed Lilith healing me and started to run towards us with a knife. "LILITH!! HURRY THEY'RE COMING!!" I yelled in fear, but fear raised even more of what I saw after. My eyes widened, I felt like throwing up.

Mercury protected us

It got through their chest but not all the way
"M-Mercury?" I tilt my head as I felt tears fill my eyes
Mercury collapsed to the ground spitting out blood.
Arcane appears behind Cross and starts strangling them, Lilith hands me bandages. "HEAL THEM QUICKLY!!" They sounded desperate as if they wanted to cry. I nodded and wrapped the bandages around their wound. I made it tight enough so the bleeding would be less.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! HOW DO YOU GUYS FEEL NOW?!" Cross laughs at all of us and was yelling but then was thrown to the ground by Lilith. I look to see Arcane and Lilith beating the living hell out of Cross, they both looked angry. Cross gets their white arm torn off by Arcane. "GET OFF OF ME GOD DAMN IT!!" Cross yells as they tried to get away. I walk towards them with a glare. Cross collapses to the ground, "You know..they might di-" I crush their head with my foot. Blood goes everywhere, and I run towards Mercury. Blood seeps through the bandages and goes everywhere on them. Lets go to a hospital..QUICK!" I yelled in a worried tone. Lilith and Arcane nodded.

Hours pass by, we sit in the waiting room. Waiting for results about Mercury. The doctor walks out and had a mask covering their face. "Good and Bad news,  they're breathing, bad news is. Its pretty severe and they might have to stay here for a while." The doctor gave a us a sad look. "I see." I said in a blank tone, I felt so bad for them. "I'll be right back." I walk away, "Alright." Lilith says as they sounded concerned for me.

I sit on the bathroom floor, sobbing quietly. My thoughts scramble everywhere, I tried to believe everything wasn't real. I slammed myself to a wall, to only feel pain.

"It was real." I whispered, I got up and stared at myself in the mirror. I looked tired and gloomy, I wipe my tears off and left. I walk back to Mercury's room, and went inside. Mercury was laying there, not responding, not smiling, not even moving. I felt like breaking down, Lilith and Arcane stared off. And so did I, we stayed there for a while. "You guys should leave now." The doctor walks in. We all nodded and left.

As we went home,
I felt so alone
I felt unhappy
I walked in front because I didn't want Arcane and Lilith to see my crying
I wipe my tears as we reached the door, I unlocked it and we all went inside.

I immediately ran to my room and shut the door, I locked it and collapsed on the bed. I start crying, I tried to sleep but to only feel sadness build up in me. It grows and grows in me. I hear a knock at the door, I wipe my tears and unlocked it. It was Lilith that went in.

I look away from them and sat on the bed. "I'm sorry for not helping Mercury back there..I really am." Lilith sits right next to me. "Really?" I look over at them a little. Lilith nods, "Lets hope for the best for Mercury, and hopefully they'll survive!" Lilith as they got up and sounded confident more than me. I nodded and slightly smiled. "Yeah.." I frowned again. "You shouldn't feel this way, you know how strong Mercury is!" Lilith crosses their arms.

I remember telling them that they were strong. I smiled a bit more and nodded. "You're right..!" I got up feeling a little bit confident. "Arcane feels the same way..We all wish for Mercury to feel better again.." Lilith looked at me as if they wanted me to feel for confident. "Maybe you are right, Mercury will fight through it!" I smiled and Lilith hits me on the back. "That's the spirit!"

As everyone else went to sleep, I lay alone feeling sad again. I just want to hold someone or be held. I felt small tears form in my eyes as I start to think about Mercury. I close my eyes as the tiredness gets to me. I fall asleep, as I felt the tears stream down my face slowly.

~~A Week Later~~

I walk to the hospital, it wasn't that far, I hear a familiar voice call out my name. It was Fizz, my manager. "Oh.." I say quietly. "You haven't been at work! What happened?" Fizz sounded concerned, "Mind your business." I walk away but Fizz places their hand on my shoulder. "DON'T TOUCH ME, PLEASE!" I yelled at them and Fizz looks at me and walked away. I watched them leave and continued my way to the hospital.

I reach the place and went to go meet Mercury, I walk in the room and they were in the same position as usual when I meet them sometimes. I stared at them with a frown as I closed the door.

I start shaking as I felt tears stream down my face, I slightly smiled as I wiped my face. I kiss them on the head. I leave the hospital and went home. I start to think about Mercury on the way, it was hard trying to not cry. But I still slightly did.

I reached the house and took a big inhale and exhale from the crying. I went in and greeted Lilith and Arcane.
