Mercury(And The Chaos In Their Life) Part 3

Chapter 6, Relief

I wake up unable to move, it was still nighttime and the room was dark. I struggle to look around the room but only to just see darkness. Until I hear breathing on my bedside. Loud breathing.

It felt familiar, somehow...I was scared I tried to move again but I felt something on my arm. A hand..I panicked immediately once I saw it. The black silhouette gets closer and closer slowly towards me. They sit on my stomach, it felt light. They reached out their arms towards me and got closer.

it was Cross
My eyes widen as their face lit up
They put their hand around my neck and start putting pressure
oddly I could feel it getting worse and I couldn't breathe anymore.
I start kicking and screaming, it kept in getting worse as Cross laughs and laughs.

-Vix's POV-

I hear screaming right next to me and I see Mercury scratching their neck. "Mercury! Whats wrong?" I yell as I tried to pull their hands away. Mercury tried pulling back. After a while of resisting and hearing Mercury painfully scream. Their grip was stronger and they yanked their hands off of mine. I tried to think of another way until I see Mercury completely almost scarred their neck. I grab Mercury and hugged them, I noticed small scratches on their neck. I continued to hug them, Mercury just sat there. They were in complete shock

"Mercury....you okay..?" I whisper but their was no response. Mercury started to quietly sob in my arms, I hug them tighter and we slowly laid ourselves down. "We don't have much time left to sleep, do you wanna talk about it..?" I reach for the lamp and turned it on. "Not really.." Mercury was laying the other way, "Alright tell me when you're ready.." I pat their head and I stared off at the wall. "You know you can sleep right?" Mercury says in a tired tone. I sighed, "I can't sleep..right now though.." I leaned on my pillow. It got really silent, we didn't speak that much.

-Morning-

-Mercury's POV-

We both just sat there, dried tears still remain on my face. I look at Vix who fell asleep, I chuckled a little and grabbed their cheek and squished it. "What the fuck am I thinking." I whispered to myself as I put my hand down. I held their hand while I was sitting right next to them. A couple of minutes pass by and Vix wakes up. They noticed me and smiled, "Well I fell asleep.." Vix stretches, and wraps their arms around me. I blushed, I couldn't resist it. They pat my head again, and kissed me on the cheek.

Vix got up and went to the bathroom to get ready for work. I stared off as I remember them patting my head, I randomly felt so happy yet stupid that I started to move my hands around. I didn't feel that tired anymore, I randomly felt so good. I smiled even more and stopped flapping my hands around. Vix exits the bathroom, "Good morning.." I say to them. "Good morning." Vix sits right next to me and kisses me on the forehead.

"Hehe.." I smiled and hugged them, they put their hand on my head. I felt happiness burst in me, "Ah I gotta go now.." Vix got up slowly and kissed me on the cheek again. They hug me and waved goodbye, I waved back and watched them leave from the front door. I flap my hands around, randomly feeling even more happier. I got up, and went to go get ready for the day.

—Hours pass by—

-Vix's POV-

I walk out of the bathroom, I had another mental breakdown again. I went to the cash register and stood there silently. I feel the dried tears on my face while I stare off. "Hey!" I hear my manager's voice. "So uh....what happened to Fen?" They sounded concerned. I looked away from them, "That's a long story.." I crossed my arms. I didn't want to talk about them. "Come on..I just need to know so we can have another worker for the day." My manager puts their hand on my shoulder. I push their hand off, "I don't want to be here anymore." I thought to myself.

"If you can't explain then I'll just think that you did something to them, Vix." My manager said in a serious tone. I squeezed my hands in anger, "YOU WANNA HEAR THE STORY? WELL I ALMOST GOT KILLED BY THAT MOTHERFUCKER!!" I yelled at them, I felt like crying, I felt upset. I turned back at the cash register. It went silent, "You should go home for now." I hear my manager say. I nodded slowly and I left the counter.

I walk home, it was cloudy and windy. It felt great to walk through. I finally reached the house, I walked in and see Mercury sitting on the couch. They shot up their body, they looked happy and hugged me. I felt very relieved.

"I'm so glad you're home.." Mercury held my hand, "Me too.." I smile and we both went to our room. "I don't ask this often..but how was work..?" Mercury and I were sitting right next to each other. "My manager asked about..uh....Fen."  I squeezed Mercury's hand, "It didn't go so well, they were very forceful about them and I yelled at my manager." I stopped squeezing their hand. "Anything else?" Mercury looked worried, "No, thats all.." I watched them put their head on my shoulder. "Do you actually enjoy your work?" It got silent after Mercury said that, I didn't want to share as much.

"I'm pretty neutral with it, I guess." I put my hand on their head, it went silent. I stared at the clock, which was still early, "We should do something for now.." I say while getting up. "I agree." Mercury got up right next to me. I grabbed my wallet and Mercury grabbed theirs.

We leave the room, and see Lilith and Arcane sitting at the couch reading books. "Leaving so soon?" Lilith looked up at us. "Yeah we just need some alone time together." I walk towards them with Mercury. "Well have fun!" Lilith looks back at their book. We left the house.

"It feels nice outside.." I hear Mercury say, "Thats why I wanted you to come with me!" I say happily, we reached the city, and walked around. We didn't do as much but we both enjoyed the weather together. We reached the bridge, and the view was beautiful. Tall cites covered by the clouds, a gloomy, yet beautiful day. I held Mercury's hand as we watched. "It may not been a good day, but this could make you feel better. Right?" Mercury looks at me and I nodded, "It does.."

"When I'm with you, I feel more happier than usual. I haven't been doing so well. But when I'm with you, you make me so happy.." I tear up and squeezed their hand. "I'm happy too, I love your warmth, your love, and kindness.." Mercury hugs me. We both kiss each other, I feel even more better now. I hug them tightly as I kissed them, I let them go. Mercury was moving their hands around in happiness, I smiled at them and put my hand on their head. They moved even more. I find it adorable, we talked for a while and went back home.

—Hours pass—

-Mercury's POV-

I sit on the bed reading a book, it was peaceful. I dozed off for a bit feeling tired so I put the book down. Vix was eating dinner that Lilith made them. I walk into the kitchen to see Vix cleaning dishes. "So..how was it?" I say while Vix looks from behind. "It was great." Vix smiles and finishes and dries their hands. "Lets go to sleep now." Vix grabs my hand.

We lay right next to each other, it was warm. "Goodnight.." Vix pats my head and falls asleep. "Cute.." I thought but then I was embarrassed by the thought. I fall asleep, it was a normal night finally.
