Prompt E34: Bed sharing
Word count: 331
You had had a long day behind you, going through caverns and avoiding any ominous places, and now your bed had broke into two.
Great.
Flies had eaten your mattress for days already, but you had managed to sleep nevertheless with some back pain, but now when your bed was officially ruined, you had no place to sleep.
So you went to sit by the rock, deciding to wait till morning and hope Lyle would let you to sleep at the back of the van or something. He had a soft spot for you, after all and might understand if you told him that you hadn't slept at all. He was a strict leader, but hopefully he would understand anyway.
But as night hadn't even properly begun, and Lyle was still awake to check your surroundings. When he came back, he spotted you sitting by yourself, so he made his way to you.
"L/N, you should be sleeping." he told you and you flinched upon hearing his voice.
"My bed is ruined. Can I... maybe... sleep at the back of the van or something?" you glanced towards your equipment which was parked near the camp, Lyle frowned and glanced at them too.
"No." he told you, and you frowned at him. "You're coming to sleep on a proper bed. I'll sleep in the van."
"No, you can't. You're the leader-"
"We both can't have a bed. There's just one bed. And I'm not letting my best worker to not have good night's sleep."
An idea came up to your mind and you blushed. "We could... share it?"
Lyle looked at you, raising his eyebrows, clearly not expecting you saying that. But then he smiled slightly and nodded. "Well... if you're up to it."
So as you finally could lay on a soft mattress, under a warm blanket and a nice pillow, with Rourke's arm wrapped around you, you finally felt safe and like you actually could sleep nicely that night.
