The morning came and went by like no other. The family continued on with their day, like usual, starting off with breakfast, tired conversations and yawns.Spooks of course, did her daily chores like usual. Of course, the topic from yesterday a heavy weight on her mind. But her family will always come first.
After sending the two boys off to their school, she sat and weighed her options.
Look into what gaster was researching by herself or include sans?
She wanted answers, she just wasn't prepared for what she might uncover.
She eventually decided sitting around contemplating wasnt getting her those answers she desired, and headed out to the library.
The usual folk were there, presumably doing their own research or studying, and spooks payed no mind to them.
It was a colder day than usual, so the windows which were usually opened during the day, were closed, keeping the place toasty and warm. Not only that it appeared that the library was also offering hot beverage for its patrons.
Spooks greeted the head librarian with a smile and a short wave, before heading to the top floor, where she didn't doubt the books she were looking for would be.
Alot of the books that were disgarded or were considered as false, or perhaps too much for the average monster to understand were placed on the top floor, where people wouldn't go looking for them. People unlike spooks of course.
She had no doubt her brother had also been up here during his spare time. That is, if he weren't so busy sweet talking the firery bartenders son.
Papyrus was usually one to stay downstairs where the colouring pages and wordsearches were.
Spooks began to skim her eye sockets along the shelves, searching for something that may catch her attention.
It seemed like forever as she stroked her skeletal fingers along the spines of the worn down, dusty books, before one finally appealed to her.
The book itself was brown in colour, with what seemed like black ink splattered and smeared on the front and back, and some sort of cypher scratched into its spine. There was also traces of paint, but the colour had faded.
Having spent time in Gaster's lab for majority of her time as a baby bones, she could begin to translate cypher and symbols pretty easily. The text on the book however, didn't seem like it came from gaster, perhaps someone else with the intelligence of souls, and realities.
She found a place in the corner of the room to sit, using her jacket folded up as a cushion, and began to flip onto the first page.
It was worn, much like it's cover, but who was she to judge?
A few bits of the page looked as though it had been burnt and torn, again, showing clear signs of coloured paint, maybe someone who painted owned this book? Maybe if she found them, she could find the author too?
She sat there decrypting each page for what seemed like hours, before the telltale sound of the stairs creaking snapped her out of her trance.
"sorry to bother you.. But the library is closing for the day, you can take that book with you if you'd like? No one ever reads these ones so you can keep it!" a peppy, soft, voice spoke.
Spooks looked up at who the voice belonged to, to see the shopkeeper's neice, who had moved in not so long ago.
Perhaps she had gotten a job at the library?
Spooks stood up, rather abruptly, that it startled the rabbit monster, who stepped back to allow spooks some room.
"oh! Where are my manners, I don't think we've fully been introduced have we?"
