That's not a Pokémon

Ash and Dawn stand outside the mansion, this time with the sun above them instead of the moon.

The collection of ghost type Pokémon they met end up all getting into pokeballs, bringing their crazy hijinks with them. Poor Professor Rowan.

"Rotom, Duskull, Gastly, and Misdreavous," Ash look at his Poketch as it updates. "Productive night."

"29 down," Dawn jokes.

"And 300 to go!" Ash cheers jokingly.

"Idiot," Dawn rolls her eyes. "It's a good thing you're a good battler."

"Did you just call me a good battler?" Ash asks with a childish smile.

"Whatever, " Dawn shakes her head and starts walking in the direction they think is Jubilife City.

The two push through the brush, keeping their minds occupied with talk about their future trip to Canalave City. Dawn then lets Ash ramble on about training drills they can do once they get there.

Conversations continue until something stops them.

A smell.

"Smoke?" Dawn questions.

"In the middle of a forest?" Ash replies.

Before they can question any further the smell is gone.

"Weird," Dawn says while trying to look up though the tree cover. "Maybe the wind pushed it by really quickly and it was just a small campfire."

She has a point, the wind is howling today.

It was getting hard to talk over the rustling leaves and cracking branches as it has continued to pick up.

"I guess," Ash shrugs.

They continue their walk, still questioning the smoke. It had to be pretty thick to smell over the forest aroma but it's not like there's any houses or buildings close to them.

Time passes by and the wind gets even stronger.

"You think the trees would shield us from the wind," Ash says holding onto his hat.

"What!?" Dawn yells over the wind.

"We need cover!" Ash yells back and receives a nod.

Except where do they go?

Fallen leaves fly through the air around them, and they swear a poor Cherubi went by them too.

Ash looks around for some sort of cover from the wind but then suddenly his vision goes black.

His head hangs in nothingness until his conscious finally comes back.

He can hear the wind again but can't see anything.

"Hello?"

"Ash?"

"Ahh!" A flashlight shines directly into his eyes.

"Oh sorry," Dawn says and turns it back off.

It only takes a few minutes for their eyes to adjust to the darkness.

"Where are we?" Ash asks.

"A cave but still in the forest," Dawn states, pointing to the exit showing the trees still waving back and forth in the wind. "I don't know how we got here though."

On cue a small yellow Pokemon appears in the cave, hovering a couple feet in the air. It almost looks like it's meditating with eyes closed and legs crossed.

But then it disappears as quickly as it came.

"Well thanks Pokemon!" Dawn says hoping it'll hear.

"Pokemon are strange creatures," Ash smiles at Shinx. "If we're gonna be stuck here awhile we might as well train."
