Chapter 10

Aki POV

Finally, the day of the Cross had arrived. "All the participants please advance to the departure line." said the P.E teacher. "You will all be given a ticket when you crossed the finished line, with which you will be given a bottle of water each.The first ten in each category will be awarded. Let our annual Cross country be fair and square. Now, without losing more time, let the first race began!!"

First were the first and second year to pass. Then were the third and fourth year. And to conclude were the fifth and last years.

"Are you ready to lose?!" I said.

"Of course not!" said Edgar.

We were doing some warm-up when I realised that Kazuya was nowhere to be seen. 'Where is he?  The race will soon start.Well, It's not as if I care anyway.'  We went to the departure lane and that's when he showed up.

"Where were you?" I asked him. "I thought that you had run away."

"Me? Run away? I was just taking a nap nearby." he said calmly.

"Taking a nap?! You seemed to be full of yourself! " I said.

"Please prepare yourself." said the teacher. "Ready! Get set! Go!" he blew his whistle and here we go. I was running in a medium pace when Rika and Touko reached me.

"It seems that everything was settled between you and Kazuya." said Touko.

"Of course not!" I replied. "What make you thought that? I hadn't made him paid for what he had done yet!!"

"You were all friendly with him just a little while ago." said Rika.

"No, I wasn't." I said and ran quicker. "If you will please excuse me, I have a bet to win."

I ran faster and faster as I was nearing the finished lane. When suddenly, "Sorry but it's me who will win!" said Kazuya as he ran passed me. I tried to run more faster but in vain. "See you at home! A pile of homework will be waiting." he chanted.

"What the!!" I cried out. Edgar who was waiting in the corner came up to me.

"I think that you own me a date." he said."What about this Saturday?"

"Fine." I said as he was helping me to stand up.

It was then time for giving the prizes. "First place for the fifth years is Edgar Valtinas."

"Kyaa!!!" shouted the girls. "You're the best Edgar!!"

"In the second place is Kazuya Ichinose!!"

"Yeeaahhh!!! Kazuya!!"

"Kazuya Ichinose!!" repeated the teacher."Last announcement Kazuya Ichinose. No? Then let's go to the third place who go to Aki Kino."                                                             "Yeahh!! Aki!!" *whistle*

"Waouh, Aki! Third place." congratulated Rika and Touko."It's better than last year."

"You mean much more better." I laughed.

"Let's go and celebrate!!" shouted Rika.

"Yeah!!"

Kazuya POV

"See you at home! A pile of homework will be waiting for you." I chanted.

"What the!!!" I heard her said as I was walking away.

*badump**badump*

My heart suddenly hurt and I lied on the wall. I took out my mobile phone and dialed the doctor's number.

"Hello. Doctor? Yes, it's Kazuya. Are you disposable now?"

'Of course. Is something wrong?'

"I'm coming right now." I said without giving him further explanation.
