Chapter 13

Kira POV

"You like her, don't you?" I asked.

"No, I don't." he replied and we remained silent. "I'm going for some fresh air." he finally said.

"Be careful."

"Don't worry." he forced a smile and went out.

'This whole week, he had been in the hospital. A little bit of fresh air will make him better.' I thought.

(flashback)

I went out of the room, leaving Kazuya and the doctor alone. I returned home and saw a missed call on my phone. It was Aki. I phoned her back and she told me that Edgar and her will be late tonight. I didn't want to stay here alone though I'm always alone when they were at school. I decided to return to the hospital. Before going, I left a note for them.

I was sitting in the waiting room when I saw Kazuya's doctor. "Oh, you came back." he said when he saw me.

I smiled at him. "I'm Kira Hotomiko the landlady of the resident Windsor." I explained him. "It had been two weeks since Kazuya arrived from America. He was in good health at that time. So why so suddenly?"

He signed. "It's a long story."

"I have some time." I replied wanting to know what really happened to Kazuya.

"Fine. Let's talk in my office." he said walking to the end of the corridor. "Have a seat." he said showing me a chair.

"Thank you."

"Well, how to start?"

"Tell me when all this happened."

"It was when he had finished elementary school." he started. "His class had organised a party to celebrate their last time together. It was then that he got a call from his mother that his grandmother had a heart attack and that she won't be able to make it. She was like a second mother to him. He rushed to the hospital but unfortunately, he had an accident."

"..." shocked, I wasn't able to say anything and he continued.

"I was a doctor at the hospital he was admired back then and I was the one in charge of his operation.Even if he had survived, his heart was weakened and he was forbidden to do extreme exercises."

"...I see...There was a Cross country today at his school. I think that he must have participate."

"Few years ago, he was allowed to do physical exercises but should not force himself too much."

"...It must have been hard for him." I said sadly.

"Indeed." he signed. "When he was hospitalized, his friends often visit him but he barely talks. Even with his best friend. It was when he was released that he started to talk again."

"Do you remember his best friend?" I asked.

"I think that his name was Boby. Why?"

"I want to ask him a favour. Do you know his number or anything related?"

"Hmm. I think I have but I will have to search for it. When I find it, I'll let you know." he said. "Well, you must be tired after what happened today. You should rest a bit."

"Thank you for everything." I bowed.

"You're welcome." he said.

(end of flashback)
