Aki POV

For the rest of the day, I have been avoiding him. After school, Touko, Rika and I went home together.

"What happened between you two?" asked Touko. "You both were acting strange today."

"What do you mean? Nothing happened." I denied.

"...you sure?" asked Rika worried.

"Of course!" I smiled. "My street is here. See you tomorrow."

They looked at each other. "Goodbye."

When I arrived home, Kira had prepared some snacks. Edgar was already eating but Kazuya hadn't arrived yet.

"You're not eating?" asked Kira.

"I'll get changed first." I said walking to my room. I wore shorts, a t-shirt and tied my hair in a ponytail. I went down.

"Are you going out?" asked Edgar when I sat in front of him.

"I'm just going for a run. The cross-country is coming." I said. "This year,I want to be among the first one."

"You got the last place last year, didn't you?" he joked.

"Haha! I wasn't last, I was next to last." I pouted. "It's you who were last."

"It's your fault. You were slowing me down."

"Me?" I said my hand on my heart as if I was really hurt. "Let's make a bet this time then."

"A bet?" he said astonished. "What kind of bet?"

"If I win, you will me buy me the bag that we saw last time."

"Sounds good to me but if I win, you go on a date with me." he said.

"Fine." I said blushing a little. He got up.

"Where are you going?" I asked.

"To run, of course." he grinned."I don't want to lose."

Kazuya POV

Aki had been ignoring me since this morning and Rika didn't stop looking at me questioningly. "I know what you are going to say. I won't tell you so don't wait any longer."

"So something has happened."

"Not your business." I said and went out.

At the end of school, I went to the hospital. I went to the doctor's office."Good evening." I greeted him.

"Ah! I suppose that you are Kazuya Ichinose." he exclaimed. "Please have a seat. Your parents have called earlier."

"What did they say?"

"They had just remind me that you were coming today." I didn't reply. "Well, let me examine you."

While he was doing so, I was recalling what happened few years ago, after I finished elementary school. I was around eleven by then.

(flashback)

It was in the beginning of December, the day of the results of our exams. We were all happy of our results and most of us got to go to college. "Attention please!" said the Principal. "It's in a joyous mood that we will all celebrate this happy day. There had been ups and downs but you have all well done in the exams. For those who didn't succeed, you have done your best during that time so don't be discourage, there will be another chance for you.Now, let's all celebrate!"

"Yeahh!!!" we all shouted.

Everyone was busy congratulating each other went I heard someone calling me. "Hey! Kazuya!" it was my best friend, Boby. "Long time not see dude! Since October. How were you doing then?"

"Fine and you I suppose you too."

"Like always." he said and we both laughed. "What college did you get in? Me, I got to go to Oaks High. You know, the one that is famous for its basket team."

"Yeah I know. Congratulation. I got Northlakes High."

"Waouh!!" he exclaimed. "Northlakes High!? It's famous for its high quality in academics as well as sports. Lucky you!"

"Thanks. Oaks High is also good."

"Yeah. We won't see each other till then so why don't we hang out?"

"Ok. I'll tell my parents. See you near the station in one hour."

"Fine. See you later and don't forget to invite the others."

"Yes."

(flashback ends)

I snapped out of my thoughts when the doctor finished. "There don't seem anything wrong but I advise you to not force yourself too much. Got it?"

"Yes thank you."

"You may leave now."

"Goodbye."

"Goodbye."
