Chapter 23

Aki POV

I couldn't move. I was like paralysed. Kazuya was kissing me and when he pulled back, he took a few steps backward. We looked at each other in silence when I decided to run away. "Aki! Wait!" I heard him shout. My mind was not functioning well, it was blurry and I couldn't think well. I didn't even know where I was running to until I heard someone calling me.

"Aki?! Where are you running to?" asked Edgar walking towards me. "Why is your face so red? Do you have fever?" he said anxiously touching my forehead.

"N...no. It's...nothing." I said losing my words.

"Are you sure?"

"Y...yes."

"Aki!" I heard Kazuya calling at me. "I can..." he stopped when he saw Edgar.

"What did you do to her?" said Edgar furiously.

"I..."

"Nothing." I cut him off and pulled at Edgar's arm but he didn't move an inch. "Let's go swimming." He looked at me and then back at Kazuya.

"Wait. Please hear me out." pleaded Kazuya. "I..."

"You what? There is nothing to say." I shouted. Both Edgar and Kazuya looked at me shocked. "Are you coming or not?" I said to Edgar pulling harder at his arm. He looked at Kazuya before finally coming with me. We walked to where Rika was.

"Aki! What took you so long to get our drinks?" she said when she saw us.

"Sorry. I...forgot." I came up with a really stupid excuse. "I mean...there was too different types of drinks so it was difficult to choose and I got back to ask you what you wanted."

"But I told you to get the region's speciality." she said confused.

"Did you?"

"You okay? You seem a bit...lost."

"Why is everyone asking me if I'm okay?!" I snapped out. "Of course I am." They looked at me shocked.

"What happened between Kazuya and you?" asked Edgar firmly. "You were fine until I saw him with you a moment ago." I looked at him, not knowing what to say.

"She was with Kazuya?!" said Rika. "Don't tell me he bullied you again?"

"What do you mean by bullied again?" asked Edgar. "He did it before?"

"He didn't bullied me. And no he didn't do it before." I said. "I'm going back." I said before walking to the villa. I slumped on the bed without even changing my clothes and lie there until I fell asleep without realising.

Edgar POV

Aki walked away, her back facing us. Rika and I remained silent a moment when I asked her, "What did you mean by bullied again?" She let out a sigh before answering.

"Did you know that they had known each other since elementary?" she asked.

"Erm...no. Had they?"

"Yes. Aki confessed to him at that time but he rejected her."

"She what?!" I burst out. "You said confessed?! But what about the bullying part?"

"Well, I must have a bit exaggerated when I said bullied. He had just humiliated her in front of the class by rejecting her." I didn't know what to say after hearing this. My blood was boiling inside me and I clenched my wrists. I walked back to where Kazuya was. "Where are you going?" asked Rika. I didn't replied her and went away.

Kazuya was still standing the same place we left him. He was looking towards the ocean when I punched him hard on the face. He stumbled and fell on the sand. "This is for what you did to her few years ago." I grabbed him by his shirt and punched him again. "And this is for whatever you did a moment ago." I let go of him and he fell again. He had a cut on his lips and it was bleeding. He wiped off the blood with the back of his hand and looked up at me.

"You done?" he said sarcastically. I was about to hit him again but stopped when my fist was only a few inches from his face. He didn't even tried to avoid it or fight back and it irritate me so much. He smirked, pushed my fist away and got up. "I'm going then." he said before turning away.

I stood here for a few minutes calming myself before heading back.
