Chapter 26

Phoenix's POV

"Harry, we're over now. I'm dating Niall, and I wouldn't cheat on him. I have no feelings for Luke anymore," I protested. That seemed to calm him down.

"Well, that's going to make the tour awkward," Liam pointed out.

"Not for me. I'm over him, and he can't control me anymore," I said.

"But still, we want to make sure you're ok, so one of us has to be with you at all times, whether or not Paul is there too," Liam said, setting his jaw. I guess I had no say in the matter, since it was already set.

That band, since I can't bring myself to say their name, was flying in today, and fortunately they would have their own tour bus so I didn't have to spend too much time with them.

************At the airport***********

Wow, the airport was crowded with fans and paps, not just here for 5SOS but also for 1D. Niall kept a tight grip on one hand and Harry kept that same grip on the other hand just to keep me safe from the swarms of people. I felt safe in between them. I hated crowds. I was an introvert, so I needed to be alone every once in a while.

As we got closer to 5SOS' arrival gate, the throngs of people and paps got larger and the screams grew louder. Why were they so excited about four lads? I mean, they were just people.

***************After the airport, but before tour departure***************

"Hey, babe," Luke approached me as the other lads and security teams were packing up the buses. My stuff was already on the bus, so I was just standing around, waiting for everyone else.

"Hello, Lucifer," I managed to keep a civil tone with my ex-boyfriend. He was a low-down cheat who only wanted the privileges of a relationship without the commitment.

"So, how have you been? Long time, no see, right?" he asked, somewhat like the devil himself. Funny that, his name was Lucifer, and he was beautiful.

"Didja miss me?" he kept persisting.

"No, but it is good to see you too," I said with my teeth clenched.

"Well I wanted to introduce you to the other guys in the band, since we formed after you and I broke up," he said, oblivious to my subtle signals that I didn't want to be around him.

"Phoenix, this is Calum, Michael, and Ashton," Luke introduced. I shook their hands, and noted that Michael's hair intrigued me the most, Calum was the most adorable, and I loved Ashton's bandannas. Luke got a lip ring after we broke up, and as much as I hated to say it, I found myself drawn to it. Wait, stop that, I told myself. He's your ex, and he's not nice.

"Phoenix! There you are! We were just climbing on the bus and getting ready to kick off the tour. You ready?" Niall asked, Harry next to him. I could tell it was their way of getting me away from my ex.

"Yeah, sure. Nice meeting you lads! See you at our first tour stop," I feigned a smile at Luke and waved at the other three as I climbed onto the bus.

"Thanks for making me come onto the bus," I said almost under my breath, only for Ni and Haz to hear.

"Don't mention it. I can't stand to see him that close to you," Harry answered.

"Same. He was a jerk to you," Niall said.

The bus ride was pretty uneventful, since Niall kept pestering me in that cheeky way I love, Harry was texting his girlfriend, Dani (aka my bestie!), Liam was Skyping with Sophia, and Zayn and Louis were playing each other in FIFA.

"Whatcha doing?" Niall peeped his head over mine, a cheeky grin on his face.

"Whatever it is you took, give it back," I said absentmindedly. He had been doing this the entire bus trip to the Channel.

"Aww, you're no fun," he pouted, throwing my stuffed cat back at me.

"What?! You took Mr. Cuddles?! Niall, I can't believe you!" I exclaimed.

"What? It's just a stuffed cat," he answered.

I sat there in shock at what he had just said and then closed the bunk curtain, cuddling Mr. Cuddles and soothing him from the traumatic experience of being kidnapped by Niall.

Yeah, I was reading those messages that he was sending, but this wasn't just any stuffed cat. This was a cat that I had had since as long as I can remember. I can't sleep without him. He's been my only comfort, and it was just plain cruel that Niall took him from me.

NEVER EVER TOUCH MY CAT AGAIN -Phoenix

After I sent that text, I set my phone on Do Not Disturb and snuggled in to nap with Mr. Cuddles. The lads had a concert that evening, and I figured that we would be out late partying.

Niall's POV

So, I thought it would be funny to steal Phoenix's stuffed cat. I mean, just as a funny prank, not to hurt her or anything. That ended well. She snatched the cat, closed the curtain and I could hear her talking to the cat. I guess I didn't realize that this cat was really important to her, so I texted her.

What? Was it something I said? -Ni xx

No reply

Phoenix, if its about the cat, Im sorry. Didnt realize how much the cat meant to you -Ni xx

Phoenix? Please, Im terribly sorry -Ni xx

Still no reply

How can I make this up to you? -Ni xx

Again, no reply

I wasn't really expecting her to reply, so my buzzing came as a shock to me. All I saw was six words in all caps.

NEVER EVER TOUCH MY CAT AGAIN -Phoenix

Well, she told me.

So, as I wrote this, I based the stuffed cat off this stuffed cat that's under my arm, helping me write this! Did you guys laugh at this chapter??? I did as I wrote it.
