The House

The world can feel miles away,

As you sit inside your house.

Your house can be a lonely place,

When you can not leave.

You may have people inside your home,

But feel like you are lonely.

Our house is our protection from the outside world,

But what is our protection from the isolation that we feel.

Our mental health takes a down fall,

Making each day feel like a battle.

The house is our protection from the virus as it spreads,

But what happens when we have no protection from the ones we love.

What happens when we can't escape the ones who always hurt us,

who beat us till were bruised and starve us till we're sick.

The house is filled with laughter,

The house is filled with tears.

The house is filled with arguements,

With everyone joined together.

The house can feel caotic, it may make you want to cry.

But remember your house is protecting you from the outside world.

The house is our protection from the death that takes place,

But what happens when death wants us as his prey.

The house has many meanings, it can feel like many things,

But ask yourself what house you'd rather be in.
