The phoenix

I wake each morning and take a breath,

Thankful to be alive another day,

Thankful to see the sky once again.

I brace myself as i stand up on my feet,

Waiting to feel the wind upon my cheeks.

The air is fresh as i breath it in,

Another day can begin.

The day it simply passes by,

But i am thankful that i'm alive.

I've seen so much sorrow,

I've seen so much pain.

But i'll soon be able to live again,

I won't lock myself away again.

I will rise up from the ashes,

Like a phoenix that's reborn.

I'll spread my wings and fly again,

Destined to live my life once again.
