"Ivy you know the dance is only a month away?!" Hermione reminded her whilst taking notes in the library.
"Yes I know 'Mione." Ivy chuckled weakly at her insistence. "That's a while away. No need to worry about it now."
"Worry?!" Hermione scoffed. "Everyone is already being asked. And on top of that we haven't gone looking for any dresses!"
"It'll all come together Hermione." She tried to soothe her friend. "I'm sure you'll get asked and we'll find the perfect dresses."
"Are you sure you're alright Ivy? You look like you haven't slept in weeks." Ginny put a hand to her shoulder.
In fact, she hadn't really gotten any sleep these past few days. Not after what she saw.
"Yes I'm alright Gin. Just haven't been sleeping well." Ivy covered Ginny's hand.
"Does a certain tall ginger have anything to do with that?" Hermione wiggled her eyebrows.
Ivy snorted. "Ha, I wish."
"Wait what?!" Ginny beamed at her accidental admission.
Ivy's palms started to sweat. "I said, Ah, this book is delish." She held up the textbook in her hands.
Ginny peered over her shoulder. "Flesh-eating slug repellant potion." She read. "Yeah. . .sure sounds delish."
"What's delish?" George came out of nowhere and slid in a seat next to Ivy, laying an arm over her shoulder.
"Yes Ivy, what's delish?" Hermione rested on her chin on her palm with a smirk.
"More like who's delish..." Ginny muttered, copying Hermione's position.
"Who?!" George quirked an eyebrow, immediately sitting up.
"Cut it out will you Gin." Ivy tried to glare at her, but couldn't stay mad at her friend.
"Who are we talking about? Who does Ivy find delish?" George was the utmost serious, his arm slightly tightening around her shoulders.
"As if you don't know?" Hermione was playing along with Ginny's game.
"Granger!" Ivy warned.
"What am I missing?" George was now more confused than anything.
"Why are you even in the library?" Ivy changed the subject, surprised to even see him.
"I was looking for you."
"As if you haven't seen enough of her." Hermione whispered to Ginny.
Ivy slammed her book shut, making the two girls giggle. "Good luck finding someone to do your makeup and hair for the dance."
The two girls continued to chuckle, holding their sides. They knew she'd never abandon them, especially not when it comes to glamour.
Ivy stood up and stormed off, George tailing quickly behind her.
"Hey I have something to ask you!" George tried slowing her down, but she just wanted to get away.
"I just need a second Geor—" Ivy stopped mid sentence as she made eye contact with a girl in blue. She was from one of the schools that were visiting for the semester.
Ivy didn't know why but something about her made her stop and stare. Maybe it was how frail she looked when she moved. She seemed to struggle with the grace that most all of her classmates embodied. She had featherlight hair that draped over her bony frame. Her cheekbones jutted out that drew attention, offset by her button nose and thin lips. She was beautiful in Ivy's eyes. She was unique and wholly her own. But she could tell this girl didn't have many friends, and it saddened Ivy's heart.
