Ginny had to pull away to go to her first class, saying she'd meet them at their shared herbology class.
Ivy felt a bit hollow after she left. She, Hermione, and Ginny were the only things on her mind until Ginny departed.
Then the whispers filled her absence. And if that wasn't bad enough, people would actually come up to her.
Asking questions about her duel with Harry. Questions about her past, where she trained, what she knew. They bombarded her, Hermione's outstretched arm barely enough to keep them at bay.
She could only imagine what Harry might be going through as well.
Ivy said nothing as she and Hermione pushed through awaiting students to their first class.
"Are the students always like this?" Ivy exclaimed, exhausted as she set down her books and plopped into her chair.
"Do you want me to lie?" Hermione copied her actions.
Ivy closed her eyes and shook her head. "Will it die down?"
"If you're with us," Hermione chuckled, "it'll never die down."
"Well 'mione, it was nice while it lasted." Ivy jokingly extended her hand to shake, a fake farewell.
"It was a good run, vixen." Hermione clasped her hand and gave it a jolt.
The two girls laughed about it until class had begun.
Time flew by. She had started to get a hold of what she knew and didn't know. She had a separate paper on one side with a list of things she needed to look up, and her notes from the lecture on the other.
It took her a bit longer to get used to the quill and ink, but she was steadily improving. She managed to only knock over the pot of ink once during this lecture.
Her leg started to bounce as the minutes left of class came to an end.
Ivy was excited. Excited to see her friends in her next class. Excited to learn more about, well, everything.
Think of how well she could hide from whomever is after her.
The thought discouraged her instantly.
Right. She'd have to run and hide after school was over. If she were lucky enough to make it to the end of school.
When she saw her friends in class, her heart dropped all the way to her toes. She wouldn't just have to run and hide.
She'd have to leave them too.
Ivy brushed away her pending disappointment and mustered a smile.
George was the first to greet her.
"You still aren't forgiven." He crossed his arms over his broad chest.
Ivy set her books down with a huff. "I thought we were over this Weasley."
"You didn't pay the fee." He tried to keep his face serious, but a hint of a smile started to form on his face.
"I'd say I paid in full," she ran a finger around his shoulders before walking past him, "and then some."
"Vixen." Ginny came up next to her, whispering in her ear.
Ivy snickered and leaned into Ginny.
"Just warn me if you're going to try and date my brother." Ginny knocked their shoulders together.
"Which one?" Ivy joked as she eyed all the Weasleys.
"Har har." Ginny played along before snuggling in close to Harry. Ivy observed as Harry inched ever so slightly towards Ginny.
