Ivy found herself clutching a little tighter to George. She wouldn't leave his side thought the dance. Even with all of her friends coming up to her, George was always within arms reach.
She tried not to think about all of her revelations that happened earlier in the evening, but when the laughter started to die down, she felt herself drifting to those thoughts.
"You okay cactus?" George nudged her as they watched Neville surprisingly smooth dance steps with Ginny.
Ivy smiled softly at George.
Not here, she told herself. Later. . . Later she would worry about it. The face she gave George told him as much.
He leaned down slightly to kiss her forehead. She shifted before he could reach her head and tugged gently on his loosened tie, bringing his lips to hers.
George let out a muffled chuckle of surprise before deepening the kiss. His hand snaked up into her hair, threading through the curls.
She locked this moment within her memories. Despite it all, she felt a little flower within her stomach start to blossom all through her chest. Ivy smiled into the kiss at the thought.
"A smile huh?" George pulled back and admired just how breathtaking she was when she smiled, truly smiled. "You're thinking dirty thoughts about me aren't you."
Ivy snorted and swatted at him. He caught her hands and brought her closer once again. Her smile dropped into something more serious, her heart starting to beat wildly in her chest. "So what if I am?"
George mocked a gasp. "Stop trying to taint my virgin mind."
Ivy's mouth widened into a feline grin. "Never."
George let out a breath in a huff. "I'm in so much trouble." He whispered into her hair as he placed another kiss on the crown of her head.
Ivy closed her eyes, a glimmer of bliss snaked down her spine. Goosebumps peppered her skin. Ivy tilted her head back. She could bathe in this feeling forever.
"George." She spoke as she played with his silky tie.
"Mmm?" He hummed, fighting the shivers her voice caused.
"Should we. . ." Ivy's voice dropped into a sultry purr. "Get out of here?"
George gulped as she gently tugged on his tie. He wrapped his arm around her waist slowly, trying to gather the thoughts she muddled when she looked at him that way.
His fingers grazed the bare skin of the high slit of her dress. His eyes traced the tattoo that resided there.
George's chest warmed.
Not only was she the most beautiful girl to have graced the earth. . . She was so much more than that.
He knew she was broken, but Ivy was the strongest person he knew. Even surpassing Harry, the thought shocked him. They had both been through so much, and he could only imagine what more would come, but they trudged on.
George had read what had happened in the forest. . . At least some of it. And it was horrific. Yet she was here. . . Staring up at him with those alluring eyes, smiling as if they were the only two people in the room.
George felt his mouth quirk to the side in a lopsided grin. "Who am I to deny such an offer?"
He let Ivy weave him between the shadows and the pillars, her fingers teasing his tie and his chest. George marveled at how she slinked back and forth with such graceful stealth. She must have been taking notes from Shadow.
