When Sam finally makes it back to the hotel room Wardlow has disappeared and been replaced by Max, who is snooping through her suitcase when she comes in.

"Hey! None of that belongs to you know?" Sam's sudden presence startles Max a bit.

"Samantha, I was wondering where you ran off to." Max drops what he's doing and turns to her with a grin.

"I went out for some coffee. My mom's in the city by the way. And it's safe to say that Chris is definitely getting an earful right now." She explains.

"Oh yeah? Damn, I knew there was a reason that I liked your mom." Max chuckles. "Good on her for getting at Chris for us."

"Watch yourself," Sam warns with a roll of her eyes.

"Oh please." Max chuckles again. "You don't have to worry Sam. I'm not into older women anyway." He teases her.

"Oh screw off." Sam laughs and rolls her eyes again. "Where did Wardlow wander off to?" She asks him.

"Didn't say." Max shrugs. "I'm sure we'll see Mr. Mayhem back here soon though." He insists. "And in the meantime, we do have the place to ourselves." He reminds Sam suggestively.

"Not a chance." Sam shakes her head. "Plus I heard that it's bad luck to bang before an important show."

"Where did you hear that one from?" Max scoffs.

"Somewhere or other." Sam shrugs. "What's on the agenda for today anyway? Besides making my dad's life extra difficult at the show tonight?" Sam plops down onto her bed.

"Not much." Max shrugs and falls back onto the bed as well. "Like I said, we're alone for the time being and have plenty of free time." He teases her again.

"And like I said." Sam rolls over on her side with a grin. "Not a chance, playboy." She pushes Max's chest playfully to create some space between the two of them.

"You're no fun." Max whines.

The rest of the day goes by agonizingly slow. Sam makes it to the arena before Max or anyone else since she's got nothing better to do. And a part of her wants to run into Chris again so she can ask about Jessica. Just to stir the pot a little bit.

Sam is on her way to the locker room so she can drop off her bags when Sammy comes around the corner looking for her.

"Sam! Hey, Sam. Wait up!" Guevara calls after her.

"Sammy, hey." Sam reluctantly stops in the hallway to wait for Sammy to catch up.

"I'm actually glad that I caught you." Sammy comes to a stop in front of Sam. "Look, is it okay if we talk for a second?" He asks her, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.

"Depends. What do you want to talk about? Here to insult me some more?" Sam asks coldly.

"No!" Sammy shakes his head. "I actually came to apologize." He explains. "And I am sorry, Sam. More than you probably think."

"Yeah, I'm sure." Sam scoffs. "Funny, you didn't seem to be so concerned with hurting my feelings last time we talked." She reminds him.

"I know I know." Sammy nods. "Sam I just... Again, I'm sorry." He sighs. "I really don't know what else I could say. I've been a shitty friend these past few months. And I know that there's no excuse for my behavior. I... I just want us to be friends again, Like before."

"I don't think things will ever be like they were before." Sam shakes her head. "Both of our lives have changed way too much now. You'll always be loyal to my dad, Sammy. We both know that. And I'm okay with that, now." She explains.

"And you'll never betray Max, I get that." Sammy agrees. "I've accepted that now. And for what it's worth. You two make one hell of a couple." He dares to chuckle a bit.

"Thanks." Sam nods and leans in for a hug. "We'll talk again later okay? But for now, let's just try and make sure that work doesn't come between us again. Yeah?" She asks him.

"Deal." Sammy nods. "So no hard feelings when we're back to fighting with one another?" He laughs.

"Depends on how hard you hit me." Sam laughs with him.

The pair both share another laugh before they part ways for the night. Sam finally makes it to the Pinnacle locker room and finds Spears already there.

"Spears? What, did you spend the night here?" Sam is a bit startled when she unlocks the door and finds Shawn waiting for her.

"No, I had a meeting with Khan before the show." Shawn shakes his head. "What are you doing here so early for? And where's your boy toy?" He asks her.

"Oh. And I came in early because I didn't have anything better to do. And I was kind of hoping that I'd see my mom before the show. That's if she's still harassing Chris backstage." She explains.

"Your mom is here?" This comment piques Shawn's interest.

"Yeah, I had coffee with her earlier today." Sam nods and sets down her bags.

"I wonder what that's all about." Spears nods.

"Just family drama." Sam shrugs and sits down. "Max and Wardlow should be here soon. I don't know about Dax and Cash though. Haven't seen either of them today."

"I talked to Cash earlier. They'll be here soon." Spears replies. "You ready for tonight. Sure you wanna cause mayhem while your mom is here, I mean." He asks her.

"Yeah, I'm sure." Sam nods. "My mom and I had a talk about it. She understands that this fight is something that I have to do. For me." She explains.

"Right." Spears nods. "As long as you're not gonna get cold feet shorty." He teases her a bit.

"Funny." Sam fakes a laugh and sticks her tongue out at Spears. "Trust me. I am more than ready to put that old man in his place for good." She insists.

"Good." Spears nods.

The pair sit and casually chat for a while, just waiting for the rest of the team to arrive. Sam eventually gets bored and gets up to see if she can't spot her mom in the waiting crowd. Just to say a quick hello.

Sure enough, Sam spots Jessica in the front row near the end of the ramp. There aren't many people in their seats yet so she takes the chance to go down and say hello.

"Mom? Hey, mom." Sam calls after her mom.

"Sam? Hey, sweetie." Jessica greets Sam with a smile. "What are you doing out here? Shouldn't you be getting ready for the show?" She asks Sam.

"I've got time, mom." Sam laughs. "I just wanted to come out and say, hello." She explains.

"Oh, well you know I am always happy to see you." Jessica laughs as well. "Where is that boyfriend of yours?" She glances around for Max.

"He's not here yet. But I'd be happy to drag him to come see you after the show." Sam replies.

"That would be lovely." Jessica nods. "Your father and I are staying at the same hotel." She adds.

"Yeah, So am I." Sam nods. "Just a different floor than him."

"Right." Jessica nods. "Well, I won't keep you from work, honey. You go get ready and I'll see you when you come out." She lets Sam get back to work.

"Alright, bye mom. And enjoy the rest of the show." Sam nods and waves to Jessica before she heads backstage again.
