The remainder of the week flies by for Sam, and she's started to fall into a routine the past few months. Gym on the weekdays except for Tuesday and Thursday. Training center with usually Max and Wardlow or Dax and Cash on Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Then she usually keeps her weekends free for whatever.

It's Sunday morning for Sam and she's busy making waffles for breakfast when her doorbell chimes.

"Crap, I've got it! Come watch the food!" Sam yells out to the living room where she can vaguely hear Max talking to Bisky on the couch.

Max comes around the corner with Bisky at his heels and Sam rolls her eyes at the cat. With Max coming over more frequently now, she's taken quite the liking to him.

"Traitor," Sam grumbles down at the cat.

Sam makes her way out to the front door and peers through the peephole. She's learned since last time not to let Max answer her door anymore. She's a bit surprised when she finds her mom standing on her porch with a rather large box on her hip.

"Mom? Hey." Sam quickly opens the door and greets her mother.

"Sam, hey sweetie. Mind giving me a hand?" She asks Sam and holds the box out in front of her. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything." She adds as Sam takes the box.

"Umm, not really. Please, come in." Sam shakes her head and lets Jessica through the door before she kicks it close. "What's all this?" She looks down at the box she's now holding.

"It's just some of your old trophies and stuff from your room," Jessica replies and follows Sam into the living room. "The twins are finally ready for their own rooms so Cheyenne is taking yours. I hope you don't mind." She watches Sam set down the box on her coffee table.

"Not at all." Sam shakes her head. "I kind of feel bad that you drove all the way out here just to bring me one box." She turns back to her mom.

"There's actually two more in the back of my car." Jessica laughs. "Mmm, something smells good. Are you making breakfast?" She asks Sam.

"Yeah, waffles." Sam nods. "Well, I was. I've kind of got some company over." She rubs the back of her neck gently.

"Oh!" Jessica nods. "A boy?" She asks Sam to clarify.

"Yeah." Sam nods again. "You know, the one that dad hates?" She chuckles to hide the awkwardness.

"Oh?" Jessica nods again. "Well then, do you want me to leave?" She asks Sam in an understanding tone.

Sam shakes her head and is about to reply when Max pokes his head around the corner.

"Sam who was at the door? Oh! Hello." Max's gaze falls on Sam and her mom.

"Hello." Jessica turns around. "It's Maxwell, right?" She takes a second to recall who her husband is always ranting about.

"It is." Max fully comes into the room now. "You must be Sam's mom. Now I see where you get all your good looks, Sam." He grins and walks over to the pair.

"Well, I see why you like him." Jessica laughs lightly. "Pleasure to finally meet the man that both my husband and my daughter seem to be so infatuated with."

"Pleasure is all mine, Mrs. Irvine." Max insists with a charming smile.

Sam rolls her eyes at Max's behavior, knowing exactly what he's doing. Max chats with her mom for a minute before she turns back to Sam.

"Anyway, I'll get out of your hair sweetie." Jessica walks over to give Sam a hug. "Oh and sweetie, I know that you and your dad haven't been exactly getting along as of late. But I know your work is taking you on the road for a few weeks starting in a couple of days. So I'd love for you to come have dinner at the house tonight. At six?" She explains.
