"Idle no More"
A Loki inspired poem (Marvel's the Avengers and Thor) written from Loki's point of view. However, it can be read by itself without any relation to the character or story what-so-ever. Please enjoy.
Stars once bright dim as they die
Spirits of the unworthy floating forevermore
Ageless time passes by; unyielding
Gone forever the deductions of kin
What hath placed this burden upon my breast?
Desire and displace?
Shall I forever be left behind?
Unable to keep my place in your eyes?
Hate and anger is all that is left of me
So you may think, but you don't know me
My tears are true and beautiful
A reflection upon a tattered soul
Breaking...breaking...
Do you forget that my love is strong?
But it is weak...weak as a maiden who weeps for naught
Do not pretend to know me...to see me
I know who it is, who it has always been
I am breaking, slowly within
What is left is damnation and fault
You hath sowed the seeds of love inside infertile soil
Now, I will take my place
Prove myself to those worthy of me
And you will eventually all see...
I will never bow to thee
I will not stand forgiving
I will not bow complacent
I will show you truth and glory
It is time...
Idle no more
