I walked into the nearest room which was a smaller study for our guests to work if needed.

I was on the other side of the room when Daniel walked in closing the door behind himself and I felt pure rage.

Yet I said nothing, because I still love him.

When he looked at me, he looked timid as if he didn't know what to say to me.

"Daniel, come here." I stated from across the room and I cold hear the iciness in my own voice.

He came to me without delay.

When he reached me, I looked at his face. I mean I really looked not unlike in the ballroom, I actually took in his features once more.

He looked older, more mature compared to the months previous. He had grown a short beard. It fit him, making him even more attractive.

Without thinking I reached out and smacked him. It was so loud. His head was tilted to the side from my assault on his face.

I felt the back of my hand stinging with force I used. I did not care to acknowledge it as I stated at him with pure anger.

"How dare you?" Was all my mind could fathom, I had no speech this time. I am tired.

"Ebonie," he got on his knees before. "There is no explanation of why I have stayed away from so long, even after Malcolm returned due to your rejection."

I stepped back, showing hurt all over my face.

"You knew?" Tears were stinging my eyes, but I refused to let them fall.

He roughly grabbed my hands, pulling me closer to him. "Yes, I feel that it was my way of punishing you for not being honest about everything with me." He looked ashamed by his behavior and he should be.

"These past months without you were excruciating for me. It was not until I heard of your ball to find a husband that everything was put into perspective." His eyes bore into mine, so that I knew his words rang true.

"Ebonie, I would rather die now than live forever without you. I will not stand to see you marry another." He stood up and stroked my face.

I pulled my face back and his small smile faded. "I have never and will never love another the way I love you. You are who my heart beats for." He placed my hand on his chest. I could feel the rapid beating of his chest.

"You are ingrained in me. I will always be yours even if you regret me tonight." He kissed my forehead and I let him.

"Forgive me." He whispered into my ear.

"Forgive me." He kissed my left cheek.

"Forgive me." He kissed my nose.

"Forgive me." He kissed my right cheek.

"I am nothing without you. I am at your feet and evermore will be. Just forgive me." He kissed my lips.

I did not respond. After a couple moments, he stopped trying with a defeated look on his face.

I smiled sadly at him, "I love you," and he smiled broadly at me.

"But I can not trust your words. You have been forgiven already and you are giving me those same words. You must learn to live without the love of your life as I have." I release his hands and begin my walk toward the door.

Daniel grabs my wrist and pins me to his chest. The action gave no time for me to react as he was kissing me.

But this time I kissed him back.

I knew I shouldn't, but my mind is a mess. I do know that I miss his lips on mine. It just feels so right.

There was a knock on the door, and that made me jump back from Daniel.

Jason walked in with a knowing smile and nodded at Daniel before looking my direction.

I rolled my eyes at him. He knew that Daniel was coming.

He would feel my wrath later I decided.

Jason sighed, "King Liam is requesting your presence."

Then walked out without waiting for my response.

I shook my head at way what just happened.

"That was-" I started, but Daniel stopped me.

"Everything. I meant what I said that day. You will be my wife and the mother of my children. Just know that I will fight for you."

With that he left the room and I was left without a thought in my mind.

I suddenly got annoyed because why does everyone interrupt me and leave the room before I can speak?

I shook my head and smoothed out my dress.

I walked into the banquet area where Liam was there but he spoke with Gaia.

Gaia was adamantly speaking with him while twirling her hair, and he was looking at her with an intense stare.

He wants her.

I instantly went into protective mode, striding across the room.

Gaia stopped her flirting and instantly looked at me.

Liam straightened his posture.

"Hello sister, I was just introducing myself to the man whom has had your attention all night." Gaia gestured to Liam with a shy smile.

"I can see little sister." Putting more emphasis on the word 'little' than necessary.

They both got the hint that I was displeased by the way they were interacting with each other, as they both shifted slightly but Gaia looked slightly annoyed.

"I am not that much younger than you. Also, my birthday is in two weeks and I will be of marrying age." She spoke confidently and defiantly.

This was the first time my sweet Gaia had ever really gotten an attitude or upset with me. This happens directly after she has one conversation with Liam. He is a bad influence on her.

I arched my eyebrow at her.

"Well you do not act as such most times but rather an il-mannered child. The fact that you needed to state that you needed to remind me how old you are proves my point. Adults act their age, and present themselves as such." I barked bitterly at her.

Gaia huffed, rolling her eyes and walked away.

I did not miss Liam's eyes trailing behind her briefly after Gaia walked away.

I rolled my eyes and walked away.

I am going to bed, I have engaged enough with everyone for the night.

I shall announce my decision in the morning of who is be my husband.
