My heart is beating rapidly.
My whole body is shaking.
My mind is racing.
Yet, I oddly had this new sense that I have a newfound freedom.
But why was I shaking?
I am laying on my back in my chambers, looking at the my ceiling trying to brace myself.
I declined dinner tonight, and I know mother with have a castle sized tantrum because a future king that wants to marry me is here.
But, I can't bare to look at him after I made my confession.
It's all just too much.
I should speak with Wynter, as she shall know exactly what to do.
I finally sit up on my bed, shuffling to the edge to get down.
Since the bed is high, I require I stool to get in and out of bed.
Once I am out of bed, I begin the search for my shoes. I kicked them off like a wild woman when I ran into my room yet I can not find them. As I search for them I hear a knock on my chamber door, and tell whoever is on the other side to come in without thinking to ask who they were.
I was bent over looking under the couch for my shoes when they entered.
"If you're busy, I can come back later."
My eyes opened widely, as I quickly got up into a standing upright position dusting myself off.
"I am not busy right now. But firstly, I would like to apologize I am searching for my shoes and I didn't think to ask who you were at the door." I offered a genuinely apologetic smile, as I saw one of my shoes behind him.
"Princess, it's fine. I just wanted to check on you because you declined dinner." He said as I walked towards him.
"Oh, yes. I apologize for my absence, I just had a little headache so I decided to have a nap, but I am much better now." I walked past him grabbing one of my shoes only to spot the other one across the room.
"Princess, you must stop apologizing. But I came to ask if you would like to take a stroll around the castle with me."
"Of course, I would. Thank you for asking." I said walking across the room to get my other shoe.
I placed both shoes onto the ground side by side, as I stepped into them where I began walking toward the door where Daniel was standing.
He held his arm out, patiently waiting for me to take it.
I told his arm, "If I keep taking your arm like this the gossiping castle staff will begin to think that you are courting me."
"Well, that's the plan."
"I would like to think that I would know that I am being courted." I made a snide remark with a smile on my face and he laughed.
"You are so free. I like that. Most princesses are very soft spoken, and submissive. You are not like your sisters, and I like that. The moment you barged into your father's office, I knew exactly why my mother wanted you to be my queen." He spoke so animatedly,
so I let him continue."I also knew that after you showed me around that I will extend my stay, so that we can take the voyage to Maya's country together which means increased safety for the both of us."
"If you don't mind me asking is that the only reason?"
"No, it's not. I am going to win you."
"Well, I am not a prize for a contest."
"No, not like that. But let me tell you something, Ebonie. You are very stubborn, determined, and set in your ways. I can tell from the way you act and the stories your family told about you, but let me say that I am as well, yet patient. So mark my words, Ebonie, you will be my wife. You will be the only mother of all my children, and will fall in love with me."
"That sounds nice, but I don't know."
"Well, I do and I'm sure it'll happen." He winked at me.
When we went outside underneath a shaded tree, he kissed me, and it was like I was in a trance.
We kissed what seemed like ages, until we were both out of breath.
We looked into each other's eyes and the lust was evident in both of us. I had to back away from him, because the passion was too much and I would've done something I would've regretted.
"Okay," I said catching my breath, putting some space between us, and desperately trying to make this throbbing go away.
"You need to know something, if we are going to do this then I want to be the only girl. I am not a jealous person, I am not malicious a person, I will not a fight to keep your attention from other girls, and I do not tolerate cheating of any kind." I was very serious.
I want a real marriage like my parents. They only love each other, have eyes for each other, and acknowledge only each other. I want what they have for myself. I won't settle for anything else. Even if he is a prince.
"I understand, I respect that, and I will only ask the same of you." He nodded with a similar understanding.
"Okay."
"So, does this mean that I am officially courting Princess Ebonie?" Daniel pulled me into his arms, raising an eyebrow.
"Yes." I smiled.
"Step one is complete. Two more to go!" He picked me up into a hug, as I gasped at his wild nature.
I laughed, he is really something and I feel he will make me very happy.
"Ebonie! Where are you? The guards told me you came out here." Jason yelled for as I stepped out the shadows of the tree, hand in hand with Daniel.
"Daniel, this is Jason." I introduced Daniel, to Jason.
"Jason, this is Daniel." Then Jason, to Daniel.
