"Where are we going?"
Athena asked as Maya lead us through her castle, it looked so different compared to mine.
"Oh, excuse my manners." Maya stopped, quickly pivoting to face us.
"I am showing you to your room, which I hope you do not mind you both sharing. I was just very informed that you two do not like being separated when in unfamiliar settings. If the information is incorrect, then I will gladly have a room across the hall prepared." Maya rushed out, signalling a servant to come.
"No, it is fine. We prefer it that way, I am glad that our rooming accommodations have made their way to you. I assume it was Jason, that gave you those instructions?"
"Yes, it was and very so last minute." I sensed the sincerity and frustration in her tone.
I grabbed her wrist, drawing her attention. "I apologize that it all came so last minute. However, your home is quite exquisite." I said shifting the sleeves up on my dress.
My movement seemed to trigger an 'ah ha' moment for her as she squeezed my hand, "Yes, I was taking you to your room so that you can change into something more suitable for our weather."
She turned to her left, and opened a door.
"This is not your room. It is my royal tailor's chambers. She will design you and your sisters dresses customarily."
"Oh, thank goodness!" Athena cried out.
Maya laughed and her while was looking at the fabric all throughout the room. It all looked so soft and different from what I'm used to.
The colors are so vibrant, not the normal dull colors I am used to.
I looked at Maya.
Her dress was a turquoise color and she looked marvelous. Her dress shaped her every curve. She looked of elegance. She showed more skin than a person of high regard usually does in my country, but she does it well. It's very classy and tasteful, not like a some street wench.
My thoughts had wondered beyond her dress and toward her appearance.
Her skin was like mine but a bit darker, and still it glistened as if we were still outside. She was very tiny, but something about her said that she was strong. She had some curves, which her dress made sure was flaunted. Her hair was down in long waves unlike mines which had always been pent up due to my curls being uncontrollable.
To think about it mine along with all of my sisters hair has been pent up all of our lives. On the other hand, my mother's was normally in a different style and as to how she manages it I will never know.
We all ignored her when she tried to teach us, as we were content with our unruly hair being kept out of our faces and everyone's hands out of our heads.
"Hello, my queen how can I serve you today?" A voice sounded from behind us.
I turned around, it was a young man around Athena's age maybe a year or two older.
He seemed fair too young to design anything Maya wore, but he got the job so he must be great.
Looking at his work on Maya currently, I can say he is.
"Yes, Reginald. Remember the dresses, I told you I would need to make for the visiting Queen."
"Yes, your majesty." He nodded
"Well, this is her." She pointed me to which he bowed, "this is her sister, Princess Athena. You will make her a dress too."
"Yes, your majesty."
"Do you need to take our measurements?" I asked the boy, and he smiled.
"No, I have a fine eye. Your dress will fit as will your sister's, your majesty. I will have them to you within the next two hours." He spoke as he walked over to some black fabric.
I was astounded, "Two hours? I don't doubt your skill but are you sure that's enough time?"
"Yes, making dresses is a passion of mine and I have what I want to make already in mind that would be perfect for you." He was speaking while simultaneously sticking pins in the fabric while holding it up to the mannequin.
"Okay, well we will leave you to it then." Maya finally spoke leaving the room as Athena and I followed.
Maya gave us a tour and I was taken back her castle. The architecture and the layout was magnificent. It was so different from back home and I liked it.
Finally we reached our room after our personal tour of Maya's castle. It was almost just as big as mine minus the garden.
"Your home is wonderful." Athena finally spoke, I guess she was as amazed as I was.
I nodded my head in agreement, as Maya smiled profusely.
"Thank you. It means a lot, as a lot of work has gone into remaking it over the years." She gushed looking around the room, which is quite extravagant.
I will get into that later.
She gasped when looking at the window, "I have to go, the banquet in your honor is in a couple of hours and I have to get ready among other things." She said slowly backing away toward the door with a excited smile.
"Of course, thank you for the tour." I smiled at her, while Athena said nothing.
Maya started laughing, and left the room.
I was confused as to why, however when I turn around I had seen why.
Athena.
She had already began stripping out her clothes.
"Athena! You couldn't have waited until she fully left before you started stripping?" I asked noticeably frustrated as I now knew how my mom now felt when dealing with her sometimes.
"What? Its hot! I played along for the past two hours or so, to get the tour respectfully. Now, I am in my room where I can take off my clothes and not be yelled at. Plus, we all have the same parts."
I rolled my eyes and huffed, "Can you at least wait next time until she is fully out of the room?"
I asked walking behind her helping with the corset string I have watched her silently struggled with for the past two minutes.
I simply snatched the string with some force, and it came falling off. "Yes!" She screamed taking a deep breath.
"Yes, to both. I don't mean to embarrass you, I will behave better." She smiled at me genuinely and it made me unsure but I'll take it.
"Okay, thank you." I turned my back to her, "Now, do me."
Athena laughed, pulled my string out with the same force and I took a deep breath as well.
"Damn, it's hot here." I said clutching my heart.
Athena laughed even harder and I joined in.
