It has been four days since I have been officially crowned Queen Ebonie of Fairmarsh.
One the first day, I woke in a new chamber that had formerly been my parents. It was far bigger than my room, and my room was quite spacious.
I miss it.
My old room.
The memories. Some of them were sad, but most of them were great. Ones I hope to never forget, even in my old age.
I was taken from my thoughts as someone knocked on my chamber doors, I hurried to get my robe from the chair.
Once it was on, and adjusted to my liking I told the person they could enter.
It was Jason.
I decided I was not in the mood to discuss yesterday's events with him, so I quickly dismissed him.
"Jason, you can wait until later about what ever it could possibly be that you would want to speak to me about. I have not awaken in the best mood this morning."
Without giving him a chance to speak, I yelled for Amaris, my head lady in waiting.
She came promptly, just as she was called.
"Yes, my Queen."
"Tell Olia, to ready my bath. I am ready to start the day, and please be quick about it."
"Yes, my Queen. Right away." Amaris scurried out of the room, yet Jason was still here.
"Jason, please leave." I said rubbing my temple, and he left without another word.
I thought to myself I have a bad habit of avoiding difficult conversations.

I am still getting into my new role as queen when the royal court began pressuring me to take a husband.
It was Lord Lansing, that brought the subject up first. It's quite annoying after awhile, people in lesser ranks than I are challenging me because I am a new ruler.
Well more so that I am a woman on the throne, without a husband.
"Ebonie, I ju-"
"You will mind your tongue, or I shall have it cut from your mouth. Before she was crowned she was your princess or your highness, and now that she is crowned she is your queen or your royal majesty. You will show some respect and regard her as such!" Jason interrupted Lord Lansing.
Jason and Lord Lansing had a staring competition before Lord Lansing visibly backed down.
Lord Lansing bowed, "I apologize for my momentary lapse in judgement, it won't happen again, my queen."
I looked down at him from my thrown, "Just be cautious that it does not happen again where you should ever address me so open or freely. That goes for all of you." I said with finality, scanning the room.
"If I may continue with want I was saying, my queen." He looked me in the eye, asking for permission.
I looked at him with a still nod as I said, "Continue."
"My queen, with all due respect I believe you should get married soon. Within the week if possible."
"And why is that, Lord Lansing?" I asked in an amused yet condescending tone.
"We as a nation would look much stronger with a king on the throne. I feel that since you are not wedded many countries will try your authority with could result in loss of major and important land."
