Ebonie's POV
I woke up not too long ago with a racing mind filled with thoughts.
What was I to do?
Then a knock was at my door.
I walked over slightly opening the door, to find a guard I have seen with Daniel on a several different occasions.
I arched my eyebrow at him, "Yes?"
He looked nervous as I gave his general appearance a once over but stopped when I noticed something in his hands.
I held out my hand, "Is that for me?"
The soldier shuffled awkwardly, his armor clamoring against itself as he timidly handed me the letter.
Once the letter was in my hand, I recognized the handwriting.
"It's from King Daniel. He wanted me to personally deliver it to you." I nodded my head, turning around into my room to shut the door behind me.
Curious but more nervous than anything.
What could possibly be in this letter that we hadn't said last night? But more importantly will whatever he has written in this letter be enough?
I walked to my sitting chair, and I staring at the envelope. I was willingly myself to open it but I couldn't yet.
My eyes bore into the envelope, as the letter was begging me to read its contents.
After a couple more minutes of staring, I ripped it open feverishly as my mind could no longer take the torture of waiting any longer.
'Ebonie,
I don't know how to start this or even what to say. There is no apology so profound that I could ever give to you. There will never be enough time in the world to make it up to you. I can not even promise that I will not let you down or that I will be the man you deserve, as we have been down that road before.
What I can do is tell you how much I love you and hope that is enough to save us. I love the way you play with my hands so delicately. I love how you care so deeply for people you just met no matter there station. I love how wild your hair is in the morning. I love the way you care and protect your sisters. I love the way you kind and generous even when some do not deserve it. I love how you are good at anything you try. I love how open minded you are. I love your voice, it's like a siren's calling me to sea. I love your eyes, as they are never ending. I love your soft skin. I love your very essence. Ebonie, you are the literal breath in my lungs.
I do not want to live without you, but alas if you do choose someone else I will forever want for you. I will never marry another. I will sire no heir if it is not with you. I will devote the entire rest life to loving you even if it is one sided.
Only time can attest to my love for you.
-Daniel'
I am angry.
I stalked to his room not really giving myself much time to think. My heart hurt and he needed to answer for it, not in some letter. But to me. He needs to give a better apology than whatever sorry excuse this is.
I reached his room quicker than I expected and started banging on the door.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
I gave him a minute before I continued my assault on the poor door.
Bam! Ba-
The door jerked opened rather hastily, and I was pulled in quite quickly as the door shut behind me abruptly.
