"Ebonie! Ebonie! Look at what I did!" My youngest sister yelled running down the corridor, "Gaia, stop running before mother sees you. We wouldn't want to get you in any trouble."

Gaia immediately stopped and looked around for mother, when she didn't see her she began briskly walking toward me as I toward her.

I believe it was her painting she had been working on for some time.

When we finally came face to face, she lifted the paper in her hands so I see her drawing. It was a drawing of the vase of flowers in my room.

It is so beautiful. The detail is so exquisite, my breath is taken away at how talented she is to be so young and so sweet.

"Gaia it's wonderful! I think you did a great job, how long did this take you?" I questioned, taking the paper from her looking even more closely her work.

"I started yesterday evening when you were taking a stroll in the garden, and I continued today when you were with Mother and Father. It's not finished yet, Ebonie." She stated, slowly start to take her drawing from my hands ever so delicately.

"But, why the vase in my room?" I looked at her suspiciously, she knows that I don't it like when she enters my chambers when I am not there.

"Well, I know you will be traveling soon. I want you to take this with you while you are gone, so you will have a piece of the castle with you. Also, I don't want you to forget me because there is a fair chance that I might be married off by the time you return from your voyage."

She was looking at the ground avoiding eye contact. I took my hand, placing it under her chin making her look at me. She had tears forming. She had the same notion about marriage as I did, but my parents aren't as understanding. Her marriage to a prince can ensure a powerful alliance with a neighboring country to solidify my rule.

That's not what I want for her.

"You have my word as the future queen of this country that you will not marry a prince without meeting him, and knowing you love him. Gaia, you are 14 years old. I will not force you into anything you don't want, and I'll make sure the current reigning rulers know of my wishes while I am away. I will only be away for one week, perhaps two at the most because I can never leave my country for too long or usurpers may come for my crown."

"Will you promise me, Ebonie." Gaia asked me with hopeful eyes.

"Yes, I promise. Now, please go hurry to finish my stretching. I leave fairly soon after my coronation as you know."  I smiled at her.

"Will do your highness." She bowed, and began running toward the direction from which she came.

"Gaia, walk." I reminded her, she turned around mouthing a sorry.

She turned back around straightening her back, and began walking toward her destination.

I wandered the castle for a bit looking for Jason, but he was no where to be found.

I decided to give up, and go to my favorite spot the garden.

I love the garden, mainly because it was my fifth birthday present from my mother.

She had it planted after she had seen how much I loved to being in her garden touching the plants and learning about them.

I plant a new type of flower every year, because I started with five different types and just kept tradition going every year.

In two months I will have 22 different kinds of flower, the next flower I will have planted is the tulip. I've seen drawings of them, and I think they are exquisite.

I jumped and screamed when I felt a hand on my shoulder, but the person muffled my scream.

I was about to bite their hand and run when I noticed the birth mark on the hand.

"Malcolm!" I yelled, in a muffled tone because his hand was still on my mouth.

"Shh! You'll send the guards!" He admonished, before removing his hands.

"I do not care. Do not sneak up on me! You know I really dislike, being scared or sneak up on." I said, rolling my eyes.

"Yeah, but I couldn't help it." He shrugged

"Yeah, just don't make a habit of it. But where were you? I searched the majority of the castle for you."

"I was where you left me last. You should've checked there first, but I have news for you. I know you may not like it, but I thought you should at least know so it wouldn't be a surprise."

"Is it good or bad." I questioned, because if it was involving the French then I need to be prepared for the idea of war.

"I just said you may not like it, so that's up to you if it's good or bad. I personally, think it's bad. But, when you went with your mother to plan your coronation I received a letter from my brother. Malcolm." He paused, waiting for any reaction from me when he saw none he continued.

"He will be in attendance in Egypt, to recognize Maya as Queen as a consultant to the future French King who is also his best friend, Daniel."

When he first he stared at me, and I blinked.

"Okay, is that all?" I asked, nonchalantly.

"His fiancé will be in attendance with him, on his voyage with the future French king."

"Is that all?" I asked again.

"Yes."

"Okay, well I look forward to meeting the future new French king as well as the new Queen of Egypt." I said, looking at a pink rose that seemed to be dying.

"Are you okay?" He asked, touching my shoulder in a comforting manner.

"Yes, why wouldn't I be?" I looked at him questioningly.

"Because I know how much it hurt you when he left without a goodbye, and how he didn't answer any of your letters."

I looked Jason directly into his green eyes, taking his hand in mine, and confidently stated.

"That was a different time in my life. It was almost eleven years ago, I have nothing to say to him or about him. I've grown up and changed, obviously. I will be queen this time tomorrow, he has been the least of my worries for years now. I will never really think of him unless I am reminded that you have a brother currently. What I am meaning to say is that he means nothing to me, and holds no value in my life. I do not care if he will be attendance with anyone. I am a queen as of tomorrow with bigger things to worry about than someone who I haven't thought of or seen in years."
