After an exciting surprise party, I went to bed exhausted and ready to go to school the following day; I had woken that morning only for my Mom to try and convince me that I wasn’t ready to go back to school yet. Finally, having made it clear that I was more than ready to head back to school, she conceded as long as I let her drive me back and forth from school this entire week. Having no choice but to agree, I had to endure a twenty minute ride this morning consisting of my Mom telling me to call her if I got even the slightest headache.

School itself was pretty uneventful, it mostly consisted of teachers offering to help me catch up—though there wasn’t very much material for me to catch up on, considering the fact that Finals are this week. I was studying for my final in advanced science when Thea called me.

“Thea?” I ask, confused as to why she would be calling me right now.

“Ash, I was wondering if I could come running tomorrow with Kolby and you tomorrow?” she asks curiously.

“I guess… Since when do you like running?”

“Me, like running? Yeah right, I just want to look good for prom,” she says in a preppy voice.

“I totally forgot about prom,” I tell her, “when is it exactly?”

“It is next Saturday; I am so excited, I will actually have a date for prom this year,” she says squealing, causing me to drop my phone on the floor.

“Cool, so I have to go—I was studying for my Final tomorrow. You can come home tomorrow with me, and then I can drive us both over to the high school at 4 o’clock,” saying goodbye to her, I hang up and start my studying again. Finished with my studying around 8 o’clock, I text Kolbys phone just to make sure that we were still on for tomorrow.

Yep, Thea is also coming along tomorrow… Wants to look good for prom. Ashlyn             

Do you want to meet up at the high school? Or do you want me to pick you up? Kolby

I don’t mind driving   Ashlyn

Thinking of Kolby, I fall into a deep sleep.

“Wake up, Honey, you need to get ready for school,” opening my eyes, and unattractively stretching, I see my Father standing in my doorway.

“Morning, Dad,” I say to him, before heading into my bathroom and getting ready for school. Seeing that it is going to be a nice day, I pick out a pair of shorts, a t-shirt, and my favorite converses.

“How did you sleep, Kasper,” I ask, walking into the kitchen where he is eating his bowl of cereal.

“Fine, I guess,” he says with a frown.

“Did you have a good time over at your friend’s house?”                                                

“Yeah, we had a fun time playing army man in his back yard,” he says, excited to tell me all about his weekend.

“Okay Kids, we have to go,” my Father says a frown on his face.
