A/n :)

I hope you enjoy this chapter; it is mostly a filler and I hope to upload a longer chapter either later on tonight or sometime tomorrow

“I am so tired,” Thea says, walking up to my car, “I don’t know how you are able to run like that every day.”

“If you kept running with me, you would be able to run that long of a distance also,” I say to her.

“Already trying to get rid of me as your running partner?” Kolby asks jokingly, even though he has a strange glint in his eyes.

“Of course, I just don’t think you are cutting it,” I tell him, trying to keep a straight face, to see if he actually believes me.

Immediately after I say that, his face takes up a hurt expression, “Me, not cutting it? I could have run circles around you.”

“Oh could you have?” I ask him, overtly offended; although I know that I was only messing around with him, he sounds serious.

“Without a doubt; I usually run so much harder than you do, I just didn’t want to embarrass you,” he says with a cocky demeanor.

A deep frown covers my face over the fact that he has basically called me inferior, “Well, I am so sorry then, that I held you back,” unlocking the doors to my car, I tell Thea to get in so that we can leave.

“Ashlyn, I didn’t mean to offend you, it’s just that I was feeling insecure because I thought that you thought that I wasn’t good enough to run with you anymore,” he tells me with a lachrymose expression covering his face.

“It’s okay; I was only kidding, but I do realize that you can run so much faster than I can—and I wouldn’t be hurt, if you decided that you no longer wanted to run with me,” I tell him as maturely as possible, unwilling to show him my real feelings.

“I didn’t mean what I said at all, you are an amazing runner, and I would be ecstatic if you allowed me to keep running with you,” he asks, allowing me to have the opportunity to crush his pride.

“You can still run with me,” I say shyly, trying to hide the embarrassing blush that made its way over my cheeks, “now, let’s pretend that none of this happened and that we just finished with our run.”

“Deal; so, I had a great time on our run—see you tomorrow,” he tells me, giving me a friendly hug and getting into his car to leave.

“Bye,” I say to his already retreating car and then I get into my own car, ready to just get home and take a nice long bath.

“Did you two make up?” Thea asks suddenly, causing me to almost have a heart attack because I had forgotten that she was with me.

“Yeah, we are fine,” I tell her, trying to not get too far into details.

“He is so hot… Did you see his abs while you were running?” she asks curiously, watching for my reaction.

“How do you even know that he has abs? For all we know, he could be extremely flabby,” I say to her, not actually answering her question, but trying to get her mind off of his amazingly gorgeous body.

“We both know that he is all muscle, I mean, you can obviously see that he has an eight pack through his t-shirts—I can only dream of what he looks like without his shirt on,” she says dreamily, staring blindly out of the window.

“You little pervert,” I tell her mockingly, “don’t you have a boyfriend?”

“Yeah, but I think that we are taking a break—we both realized that we should slow down-- and it isn’t like I don’t care for Tanner, it’s just that he has an insanely attractive brother,” she says to me, trying to defend herself.
