Christian's POV
What the hell just happened? Who is daddy and who is that boy?
I remembered Caleb telling me she had a son but the daddy part was still unclear and finally it struck me.
I stormed out of the store furiously and wandered around. It wasn't long that I saw him and my blood started boiling.
In an instant I was in front of him but was far away lost in his thoughts
My eyes met Hayley and just for a brief second something flickered in her eyes, hope.
She turned away and started putting everything in the boxes so they could leave
"Hey kai, long time no see?"
Kai snapped his eyes open and his met mine. Both of us stared at each other but no one spoke.
"Kai" Hayley said softly and touched his arm. Kai instantly snapped out of it and looked at her with warm eyes
It disgusted me
"Hayley?" my heart broke and she felt it. Her entire face showed how hurt she was but then why was she doing this?
She didn't speak instead she just took Elijah away.
Kai stayed behind and in silence we walked
"So?" he was the first one to break the silence
"Kai what exactly happened?" I was very curious if it had been a week or a year? When did all this happened

After listening to his side, things finally started making sense
"Christian I will not back out this time" I looked at him in disbelief. Did he really say this?
"What do you mean" I said in a cold voice
His face became emotionless and he looked at me. His eyes were stiff and he seemed very sure of what he was doing
"Hayley is counting on me Christian-"
"She is MY wife"I said through gritted teeth
"Does that change the fact that she now has a son?"
Whatever I had in mind, it suddenly seemed pointless. One thing was clear, Hayley had no intention of leaving Elijah and kai knew it.
"Kai I can adopt him"
For the first time, fear flickered through his eyes but he quickly hid it.
"He doesn't know you Christian, for god sake he is a 5 year old boy"
"I don't care how old he is. I can adopt him and Hayley can come back to me. Everything will be as simple as it is"
Kai nodded his head in rejection of my thoughts
"You should talk to Hayley then" he said as he patted my shoulders and left.
With everything going on in my mind, I drove home eager to get some rest. I am feeling better but I still need my rest especially after what happened today
I took a quick shower and changed.
I was just about to sit and relax when the doorbell rang
"I swear if it is kai or Lucas with their tepid thoughts I am going-" i said as i opened the door
I stopped dead in my tracks
"hi christian" she spoke softly
