Chapter 13- Betrayal

Hayley's POV
"He lied to you" was the only thing I heard.

I shook my head and breathed in

"What do you mean kai?"

"I was coming home when I saw Christian getting out, he seemed quite happy"

"So?"

"So I followed him"

"Why would you follow him?"

"Because I wanted to talk to him about the reports and other matters so I considered talking in person would be better"

"Okay so what happened? Is he with George?"

Kai didn't speak.

"Kai?"

"Huh? Oh no he isn't"

"Then who is he with?"

"Katherine."

Christian's POV
As I sat across her waiting for her explanation, all she did was play with her hands out of nervousness
Getting frustrated I said

"So are you going to tell me anything?"

She seemed to snap out from whatever world she was in and nodded her head

She took my hand in hers and started speaking

Hayley's POV
I was tapping my phone in my hand as I waited for kai to arrive, he said if I didn't believe him(which I did not) I could see It for myself

After what seemed like hours kai finally came. We sat in the car and drove to a very unfamiliar route
Soon enough I saw a cafe which I had never seen
We got out and I followed kai staying close

I saw Christian sitting across Katherine and my eyes darted towards their hands, they were holding hands.

My heart broke.

I tore my eyes away from them and saw an elderly lady looking at me, I smiled at her

"Do you know them" i asked her pointing towards Christian

"Oh yes, I've seem them here a couple of times here maybe twice this week"

"t-twice" I barely managed to speak as tears filled up my eyes but I blinked them over

I thanked the lady and said my goodbyes then headed towards kai who was still standing there, unnoticed by them

I tapped him on the shoulder and he turned. He passed a sad smile to me and placed a hand on my shoulder, I looked at him with pure guilt. I doubted him when he only wanted to help me and tell me the truth

As I looked at him I noticed them standing up and I quickly pulled kai to my side so they wouldn't see him. We were now practically pinned against each other and kai seemed to notice the tension so he pulled away a little

As I glanced back what I saw was the end, silent tears started flowing down my cheeks as I looked at them, and they were hugging.

Christian's POV
"And that is why I did all that, I just wanted to be with you Christian but I realized that I was wrong. So this is the last time we are meeting, I will leave yours and Hayley's life forever"

As I listened to her story, certain emotions took over me but above that, all I could feel was rage

She stooped so low just to be with me makes me want to shoot her with my bare hands.

As I stood up to leave, she looked at me with panic and quickly stood up herself. She called my name as I turned around

"Can I hug you for one last time?"

"No"my brain spoke but against all odds, she was my friend once and if it is really the last time I'm seeing her I think I can do that

I nodded and she hugged me tightly, it took me some time but eventually I wrapped my hands around her loosely

As I looked away I spotted her and I felt as if my heart stopped

There she was, looking at me with pure betrayal in her eyes and I realized this was finally when I completely lost her
