End of Part 1

I actual think the ending of Ruin and Rising was really bitter-sweet and so perfect for Alina. She and Mal are so cute together, and the actor who plays him in the series makes me love him so much more. I can't help but ship all of  Bardugo's couples.

 I don't know what it is about the darkling (i've never seen one character generate so much fan-fic for a start) but i think we can all agree, Aleks gets a really rough run in the books, so would someone please give Ben Barnes a hug? The darkling could do with some love.

I know the guy's evil and everything, but he's trying really hard. 

Anyway...

This side project is get way too distracting so i'm taking a break to focus on my actual writing for a few months.

Part 2

As for part two, if people are interested, the story would pick up five years later.

After Ferdija surrenders, Alina and her husband travel to the ice court to negotiate 'the peaceful transfere of power'.

Timelines diverge further with Alina meeting Nina Zenik on the wandering isle. Becoming the head of the 'sun guard' and Alina's personal confidante.
A bit like more sassy version of Genya.

  Ingen Ghafa works as a spy for the darkling after he incepted her slavers ship on route to Novyi zem.

Jesper Fahey is forced into reluctantly drafting for the second army.

Aleksander hungers for more power as Alina regrets the decisions she made when she was younger.

Comment if that is something you want to read, but like i said i'm putting this project on hold for the time being.

PS I think it would be cool if the darkling and Alina got a dog.

Couples with shared pets are sweet and it'll give them something to bond over  + i can see Aleks as dog person.

So dog name ideas welcome. :)
