Kabanata 7...
Distraction
"Marjorie," my gaze drifted to a familiar face before me. "Coach wants to talk to you,""Now?"
"Yup. The squad has been notified. Couch made it specific to get you there, so," she shrugs.
Tumango ako. "I'll tag by. I just have to finish this,"
"But the meeting's about to start,"
"Don't you hear me? I said I'll go after I finish this," pinigilan kong umirap at muling hinarap ang ginagawa.
Daddy made it clear that he'll fix Mommy's issue and he really did as it subsided. Though of course, it's not as if they could just forget it in a snap.
Coach gaze shot through me once I enter the gym premises. One looked at me, followed by another, then I just realized I caught everyone's attention.I nod and pulled a seat in front.
"Is this about our incoming cheer for the university?"
He pursed his lips and nod. "By this month, magpra-practice na tayo ng routines,"
Tumayo ako, hindi inintindi ang sinabi nito.
"I'm quitting, coach."
"What? You can't be quitting Marjorie," Mel, one of our bases stood up.
"You're one of our flyers, you can't just quit!" Another one stood up.
"They're right, Marjorie. You can't just quit. You're one of our centers, and a flyer, it'll be hard for us to find another substitute," aniya.
Even if I want to continue cheer leading, my whole being can no longer take my piling up stress and responsibilities. I had to leave such things behind.
I shook my head and stare at coach, dead eye. "As far as I can remember, I can quit whenever I want. Besides, there are people auditioning every year. I'm sure you can fill the spot I left,"
Another bunch of murmurs filled our atmosphere.
One more argument with coach and I leave with head up high, planning to sleep my ass off until I can function again.
I still didn't get how Mommy can do that to us. To me...
I'm her daughter. Why don't I feel like it?
