A new day had arrived and everything still hurt "Jarvis" I groan throwing my pillow down to the end of my bed "Yes Ms Y/N" Jarvis says through the speakers in my roof "If Tony and Bruce are awake can you ask them to come to my room asap please" continuing to ache I toss and turn, not even ten minutes later the two science bros bust through my door with their sciency gear and run over to me asking me a bazillion questions "are you ok?" "did you need anything?" "antibiotics?" "rate the pain" "guys!" I groan turning over to my stomach and covering my head with a pillow until I hear pure silence.
"All i wanted was antibiotics because I am in pain still" I yell through my pillow "oh yes of course' Bruce says and I hear rattling then something dropping onto my drawer "what is everyone doing in here" fuck- James is here "We were told to come here she's in pain, what are you doing here?" I hear the confusion in Tony's voice as to why James would be visiting me at "It's half past six" Bruce says, I don't know why James would visit at half-past six in the morning "I'll check in later I guess" James tone had changed from confused to irritated as his footsteps disappeared.
I sit up as the science idiots look at each other in confusion "he checks up on me sometimes because I have nightmares, he was checking if I was coping that's all" I made an excuse up pretty quickly it was almost like a talent "oh right so you guys are PTSD buddies" Tony says pointing between the door and I "yeah like you guys are the science idiots" I say taking the pills hoping they would work, which in the end they never usually do.
"thanks guys" I groan sitting up my head and limbs were literally killing me "no tests right?" I ask as they both shake their head "Thor and Steve filled us in when Bucky was carrying you to bed" Tony smiles sitting down next to me rubbing my back "I have numbing cream to douse yourself in but erm I don't think it would do anything" Bruce says rummaging through his things as I chuckle "I should be able to manage Bruce but thank you both for rushing here" they both look at me with smiles "ok well i have some things to do in the lab you know what to do if you need me" Bruce says waving and Tony staying behind.
Tony stares at me with a smirk on his face "what's going on with you and Bucky" he says making me almost spit my drink out "what?" Tony gives me a flirtatious look "are you guys like in a toxic relationship or something you get along sometimes but other times you can't stand each other" god I wish, I mean I don't I do want to be in a relationship with him but toxic is just different "what no" I truthfully answer and Tony nods out of all people I wouldn't think Tony would notice it first "well there is a LOT of sexual tension there" Tony says clearing his throat standing up.
"James and I have nothing like that" my defensive side was coming out "no sexual tension?" "no we don't and I don't think that's even like possible not in the universes of universes" I nervously chuckle, was there really sexual tension between us why are you like this him god maybe there was some sexual tension but not a lot, I could swear there were a few times "see now your thinking about it" Tony says it was almost like he was reading my mind.
Shaking my head profusely I noticed another shadow in the room "anyways I will leave you two toxic lovebirds alone" Tony says noticing the shadow as well, my door closes and my bed sinks next to me "how are you feeling?" James says "Im good James just pain and more pain" I say sarcastically almost like he has forgotten everything "god y/n stop being stubborn is it worse or better," he says, he always sounds frustrated around me i don't know why he comes near me if he is always frustrated.
"The pain is worse," I say truthfully as he nods "did you get any sleep," I ask him and he shrugs "I'm tired i literally got no sleep last night" "thinking does that to you" I look at him twiddling my thumbs "you know me too well sometimes" he laughs "yeah well you know me well too i mean you knew i preferred hand-picked flowers" I nudge him.
"yeah well sometimes it's the people you least expect to know you better that really know you better you know if that makes sense" he chuckles shaking his head looking down and I nod "i understand" I smile "but i mean we fought side by side unwillingly but we still did" he says and I nod smiling.
Silence entered the room and I couldn't think, "have you been in love with someone other than Steve" his face changes from interested to regret probably from asking that question "sorry that was so rando-" "no i haven't" I say looking down "and i don't think i can especially after all of this Hydra kidnapping bullshit" I chuckle "you?" I ask looking at him and he shrugs "i mean not in the past well i mean yeah there was this one girl in the forties and then recently i mean" "you found a girl?" I ask excited "no" he says cutting me off almost. "but if i did i don't know how to love so" he says trailing off
