It's been a while since he went to the lakeside of his pack. The smooth wind brushes him off, reminding him that this is the place where he belongs. As he sat down on the shore, putting his legs in the cold water, and closed his eyes, thoughts flooded inside. After returning from Del Royale, Jungkook was never the same. At least in some cases. The midnight is darker for him now. The moon is farther from him, the stars don't blink for him. Whenever he closes his eyes, he could picture a certain male gazing at the vast sky and the alpha flicker opens his eyes in the middle of the night to his empty chamber. The cold bed is not the same- it is desired for someone, to hold and to be held by him. The brave alpha he's, Jungkook brilliantly pushed all those thoughts.
That night when he left Taehyung alone to sleep, Jungkook left Del Royale. His brother couldn't come with him and Jimin doesn't want to return to their pack that soon. Jungkook didn't force them. But his decision was final, and he left for Crimson Asterin. Things were fine since Yoongi took care of everything. The alpha felt grateful for his head warrior. It's been weeks since that night happened and he has moved on. Yeah, not completely. But he was planning something inside. Several meetings with his friends and other pack allies were conducted to discuss their mission. The alpha didn't tell anyone that the omega prince is his mate. He will keep it a secret for now.
After the meeting with Yugyeom, Jungkook thought it would be a nice idea if he would excuse himself and sit back all alone to clear his head. He strolled inside the palace to find a peaceful place. The palace now suffocated him. So he decided to go out to the lakeside. The lake that connects Crimson Asterin to the south of Del Royale. When he was a kid, Jungkook used to find happiness from little things- since he was always treated as the majestic and powerful one even between kids. He loved things that are small, tiny to hold, and completely fits in his arms. He loved to visit places where no one boasts about anything or no other sounds disturbs his truce.
The lakeside was beautiful with trees covering and calm green waters. No one comes there since it's far from the outskirts of their pack. And it's like breaking the rule.
Jungkook took several deep breaths, recalling the story he heard as a kid when he visited this place with his mother- the story of a mermaid falling in love with a commoner. Jungkook used to wonder, why would someone make some stories like that in the first place if they both can't be together? As he grew up, things were a little bit easy to understand for him. And he realized that where's the fun in desiring things that you can achieve easily. Forbidden has its own beauty.
Like the moon.
Jungkook cursed under his breath as he let his mind think about that again. The little kid in him searched for the mermaid, thinking that he can ask her about the story his mother left incomplete. It's childish, he knows. Especially when the face of the mermaid matches the omega prince. They're two different sides- neither Jungkook is a commoner, nor his mate is a mermaid. But yeah, they both can't survive when they leave the place where they belong. They're not for each other, they're not right for each other. A heavy sigh of relief left from Jungkook's mouth as he glanced at the woods in front of him. Cross the lake, and walk past the woods. That's it. But Jungkook stopped himself.
"Never thought a day would come when I would have to find you here, alpha Jungkook..."
The voice broke the silence and Jungkook turned to look at his head warrior. Yoongi sat next to him with a small smile. Jungkook felt a little relieved since he doesn't have to explain anything to the elder. Yoongi knows. He knows everything, even the shuddering breathings of his head alpha.
"This place is really something. I feel my tensed muscles are fading away. We should do this often."
Yoongi said and Jungkook nodded with a smile. Their pack was a little bit different from the olden days. The anger to burn everything down in Jungkook was calmed down and now, he listens to his people. Maybe you can say he got inspired by someone but whatever, the tricks are working. His pack members often smile at him even if he couldn't reciprocate it. The color of Crimson Asterin was changing.
