Chapter 2 Blood

Chapter 2 Blood

Third person POV. 

Freya sat at the kitchen counter trying her best to just stare at the counter and not Dick Grayson and Zatanna Zatara who were flirting with each other. She was eating her green apple joyfully before the two of them walked in ‘flirting’ with each other. Now she felt bitter and depressed… or was the biter because of her teeth piercing through her bottom lip causing it to bleed out? Yes, it was.

Her blood wasn't a normal standard of blood, it wasn’t red but black blood. Even on her planet her blood was different then the others. Nexusis blood is supposed to bleed a dark or light blue color and not bleed black blood.

Freya felt a pain in her chest as she tried not to look at the two, she didn't want to hear them, but she couldn't do anything about that. The only thing she could do was stare at the counter as jealousy filled her body. She hates when she feels jealous. She didn’t want to hear or see them flirt with each other, but what was she supposed to do? She didn't tell them that she is basically their soulmate as they are hers. There's quite a number of reasons why she can't and did tell them. 

One, she doesn't know how to tell them since she has been working with them for six years now and just now telling them would either end good… or very very bad. Another reason why she couldn't or didn't tell them who she really is would be because her true form, her real form couldn’t be seen by anyone, either by the naked eye or by devices. She couldn't risk her ‘alien’ form to be seen by any bounty hunters, Kain followers, Dark Crystal creatures, basically anyone who would take her to Kain. It's too risky for herself and others around her; especially how far she is in the mission to get caught. 

Her mouth had filled with a bitter taste, it was her blood. Not being able to spit her blood out, she had to swallow her bitter blood, the bitterness made her feel like she was going to gage so she took a deep breath in and out and did her best to stay calm. 

She had stopped biting her lip at this point but that still didn't stop her lip from continuing to bleed and fill her mouth with her bitter blood, she quickly whips the blood that drips down her lip and chin. Her beautiful eyes casted down to the back of her hand and saw her black blood on it. In a panic of hiding her blood from anyone or devices she quickly pushed up from the stool a bit too fast and too harshly which caused the stool she was sitting on a few seconds ago to fall to the ground and roll side to side with a very loud thud. The loud noise caused Dick and Zatanna to look up away from each other to see Freya rushing to the sink very fast to wash her hands, lip and chin from her black blood so no one could see it.

She didn't want anyone to see her blood, her blood is black not red like most others on earth, if they had seen it they would have known she was quite different then others. Even on her planet her blood was different and she had to hide it from most maids, maidens, cooks, cleaners, noble kings, queens, princes, princesses and plenty more. The only Nexusis and other alien beings that would know about her black blood would be Guard Lilley, mama, papa, a maid and then Kain the killer and his many Followers. 

Dick quickly looks away from Zatanna and raises his eyebrow at his teammate, confused. All he saw was her washing her hands violently and then whipping her face. Why? What was wrong with her? He thought to himself. 

“Dick? Are you ok?” Zatanna asks him. He looks away from Freya's back towards Zatanna again. “Yeah I'm fine," he turns his attention back to Freya "Are you ok Freya?” he asks her. 

Freya jumps in her spot slightly. She turns the water off and turns her head to the side to slightly look towards Dick and speak, “... Yeah I'm... fine… sorry for being loud” she said in her quiet unsure voice. She was so embarrassed for knocking the stool down and causing their attention on her; it caused her cheeks to go red.

Dick gives a small smile towards her, “It’s fine really” he said. Freya's cheeks went even redder than before and to hide it she looked back to the sink. Dick had seen her cheeks go red and smirked at that. 

So cute, he thought.

She goes to where they leave their paper towel racks so she could dry her hands, but she didn't even get far because of bumping into someone. She stumbles back and as she stumbles back she trips over the stool she knocked over and falls on her ass. She groans out.

Aqualad rushes to her aid and helps her up, “Thank you” she quickly said to him, she was even more embarrassed then before. He lets go of her and picks up the stool and places it where it belongs. In the background she could hear Zatanna laugh in a mocking tone towards her. Freya just rolls her eyes at the ground and bits her lip again. 

Aqualad shakes his head and gives Zatanna a harsh glare shutting her up, “It's fine,” he said, turning to her again. She winces and stops biting her lip again and once again she has caused it to bleed. She turns away from the three and goes to grab what she was trying to grab a few seconds ago. Her cheeks were still red and like Dick, Aqualad had seen them.

Aqualad raises his eyebrow when he sees her red cheeks and gives her a small gentle smile towards her. She didn't see it and if she did see, she would have blushed even more than she already is. He turns his attention back to Dick and Zatanna since that's why he was there. "Dick, Zatanna suit up, we have a small recall mission in star city to do. Wally will meet us there" he said. 

That had gotten Freya’s attention fast, she looked towards her leader, “Do… i…” she said pointing at herself, “What do I do…? Am I called for this recon mission too?” she asks him unsure of what to say fully. She needs to know if she is called on this recall mission, so she knows what she could do next. 

If she goes with them, she'll go with them and if not she will go on her own mission, something she would rather be doing then see Dick and Zatanna together, well she didn't want to be close to her soulmates who is flirting with someone else right now, once again she couldn't be mad at them and she’s not. She's just very jealous. 

She can’t be found out that she is Princess Freya Ray Adaya of planet Nexusis. If she was found by any bounty hunters, followers and other dark creatures that follow Kain her plans of getting her planet back would fail and she would never be able to get it back and save her people.
